It was his punishment for telling Grey Cloudy Lies.

When George walked out of the Get Back sessions, what was it that convinced him to return?

To the fountain of perpetual mirth, let it roll for all its worth. And all the children boogie.

Sitting at home, George suddenly realised he’d left his digestives in the studio next to Yoko’s mattress when he left in a huff. He feared the inevitable had happened. That Yoko had shared them out with the rest of the group! a-hard-days-night-ringo-6

He rushed back in a hurry to discover…?

…his guitars had eaten them. Deeply angered by the betrayal, he went full-on Pete Townshend and smashed all the equipment in the studio.

What were the other Beatles’ reaction to this?

“Right! So it’ll be an all acoustic album, then. ‘Maggie Mae ‘, Take 1! “

What instrument did Mal Evans play during his solo on John’s ‘Nutopian International Anthem’?

“He rushed back to discover…

…the biscuit packet lying on the studio floor, overturned and emptied of all but crumbs, while a remarkable din emanated from the studio speakers. John and Paul scraped biscuits up and down their guitar strings, creating heavily amplified crunchy feedback shrieks that mixed with the whine of the boiling tea kettle whose spout Mal aimed into a live mic. Yoko chanted “John, John” through a mouthful of chocolate and wafer, eyes closed in ecstasy, while Ringo bashed away gamely, oblivious to the spray of crumbs soiling the skin of his floor tom. George took it all in, shook his head in mock-exasperation, and suddenly broke into a great grin. “Hello, all.”

“George!” All the participants dropped their instruments and rushed to greet him, including George Martin, racing down from the control room two steps at a time. “We’ve missed you!” Hugs all around, and a quick peck on the cheek from Yoko. George tactfully brushed the crumbs from his face and glanced around. “Looks like you’ve polished off the biscuits already. You guys wanna break off early and go get pizza? I’m buying.” They piled into John’s Rolls and headed off to the local pizzaria…and that’s how “Thanks For The Pepperoni ” came to be written.

What instrument did Mal Evans play during his solo on John’s ‘Nutopian International Anthem’?

Celery. Paul had taught Mal how to play one after Mal had heard him playing that killer celery solo on The Beach Boys ‘ “Vega-Tables”.

Why did Mal eventually give up playing celery?

He was defeated in his eternal quest for good celery tone by the fact that the things dry out and get limp so darn quickly. And you couldn’t even plug them into a fuzz face or put any reverb on ’em! mal-evans

‘You Like Me Biscuits Too Much’

Neil Aspinall had to fill in for George during rehearsals for The Ed Sullivan Show. Where was George?

Writing a song for the occasion:

     Ed – I need somebody

     Ed – Not just anybody

Ed – You know I need someone named ED!!!!

John quickly vetoed this idea.  Why?

He just liked saying the word veto as it reminded him of a childhood friend, Vito Scarpinelli.

Paul’s imagination. There was never a hole big enough to let rain in – he fixed them whenever they happened.

One of George’s guitars got run over by a lorry on a freeway in 1965. What guitar was it, and how did George react?

It was his prized 1961 Danelectro Biscotti — which had been a very fragile guitar to begin with, being made entirely out of biscuit. George reacted by going into mourning and not playing guitar for six months, during which time they had to get Neil Aspinall to stand in for him during live shows (no one could hear them anyway, so it made little difference) and either Paul did all the studio parts himself, or hired Jimmy Page.

Someone gave George a replacement Biscotti guitar to encourage him to let out his heart from behind that locked door. Who was it?

It was his trusty friend Eric Slow HandClap Tone. He always kept a Biscotti original in his car trunk just in case…
What did George do in return?

Ringo’s alleged affair with Brian was borne out of a misunderstanding. An eavesdropping office clerk misheard Brian when he invited Ringo over for some tea and pastry by saying “I’d like to have an eclair with you”.

What Beatles song written by John was based on a picture of a classmate drawn by Julian?

When Polythene Pam once forgot to take him out to look at the Queen. He has avenged that day ever since by shouting out something obscene.
