What John Lennon song began its life as “Grape Fields For a Pretty Long Time, Hours Even”?

‘Allow Harmony An Opportunity To Flourish’

Which ex-Beatle wrote ‘I’m The Greatest’ and why did he or she give it away to Ringo?

John had written it and planned on releasing it until Ringo bested him in an arm wrestling match, making him clearly the greatest.

How many pet turtles did George have during the tenure of The Beatles?

Trick question – he had two turtles but they were WORKER turtles, not pets. They were on a treadmill attached to the the rotating Leslie speaker cabinet, turning it slowly for that luscious modulated sound loved by millions of record buyers. George named them Simon and Simone, until the night he discovered they were a same-sex turtle couple, whereupon they were rebranded Simon and the Other Gay One.

What other Beatle(s) had musical assistance animals?

Pete Best. He came with what he thought was an absolutely genius idea after seeing a lady with a seeing-eye dog walking down the street, and went to get himself a musical-assistance goldfish. He thought that having extra help when drumming would improve his sound, and surely the Beatles would want him back then! pete-best

It didn’t work.

Which Beatle was also a hardcore Pink Floyd fan?

David Gilmour, he used to play guitar before George joined.

What infamous remark did Ringo Starr make to Beatles historian Ron Nasty back in 1968?

Paul was the best swimmer, often playing bass in the water just as well as he played bass on stage. Ringo was not a very good swimmer. He developed a fear of swimming after falling into a pond while hanging from a tree, peeing.

Many. All the studios at EMI were full that day, so the Beatles, accompanied by George Martin and Norman Smith, had to instead record at the confectionery factory down the road. The Beatles were too busy eating chocolate bars to sing lyrics for the song.

What exactly was going on in all of the studios that made The Beatles go there?

Flip phones and pencil shavings.

Why did The Beatles make a prog rock concept album in 1975 about the number 3 pencil?

Because King Crimson already did one about the #2 pencil.

What was Ringo’s first non-musical job?

Government testing.

What test involving radiation and a grilled cheese sandwich gave Ringo Starr a 3rd eye in 1968?

@SgtPeppersBulldog – nice work!

Post number 6013 looks a little like this Pink Floyd album cover.

Maybe if Necko quoted that post for a tri-tiered effect and then quoted that post…

All of them.

********************

3rd eye advantage is that the 3rd eye could keep an eye on the other two eyes while they kept an eye on one another.

There’s 13 saloons, in order there names are:

1. Saloon

2. We hate Jar Jar Binks therapy saloon

3. Nail saloon

4. The Beatles saloon

5. Tavern club

6. I’d sell my soul to know who sang the ahhhs in A Day In The Life

7. We’re not a saloon

8. You already went here

9. The Paul McCartney played acoustic guitar on I’m Looking Through You bar and grill

10. For the last time, get the hell off my property before i call the police on your stupid sorry saloon

11. The professor who is always right will now have a cup of tea

12. Fender saloon

13. That’s it, i’m calling the cops

After they went to the 13th one, The Beatles got arrested for trespassing and were sentenced to either release Carnival Of Light , tell everybody who sang the ahhhs in A Day In The Life , or spend the rest of their life in prison.

Why did they choose the 3rd option?

It can be attributed to an unfortunate phrasing choice. When offered a chance to “spend the rest of their lives behind bars”, they were expecting an entirely different outcome.

How many birds did Paul write about before finally deciding on ‘Blackbird ‘?

Mostly just Jane Asher, but I guess he also wrote a couple of one-offs about random chicks with names like Rita or Eleanor.

What song did Ringo perform as a duet with Frank Sinatra (with Paul and Yoko on backup harmonies) for a #1 smash hit in 1972?

The Screaming Medley (I Want You (She’s So Heavy)/Helter Skelter /side one of The Wedding Album (with Paul and Ringo both doing John’s part)/Twist And Shout

Note: Sinatra fled the studio after only 12 seconds of recording.

On which Beatles song does John Cleese play the flute on?
