Yes, that's right, @kelicopter! paul-mccartney-thumb_gif

(The picture shows the 1913 Derby shortly before suffragette Emily Davison stepped onto the racecourse.)

Over to you for the next round.

And in the end

The love you take is equal to the love you make

Wow, got it in one!

Lots of the lyrics were fitting: "it rains for you" "you've never felt the rain, my friend, til you've felt it running down your back" etc, but Mamunia be me song

Thanks, kelicopter. I was also thinking that it might be My Valentine ("What if it rained? / We didn't care")

Here's the next picture:

Hint:
* The picture is an indirect reference to a John Lennon song.

And in the end

Hints:
* The picture is an indirect reference to a John Lennon song.
* The picture illustrates a non-Beatles song, which has something significant in common with a specific John Lennon song.

And in the end

The love you take is equal to the love you make

Extended Hints:
* The picture is an indirect reference to a John Lennon song.
* The picture illustrates a non-Beatles song, recorded by another British group, and their song has something significant in common with a specific John Lennon song.

And in the end

The love you take is equal to the love you make

Hopefully, this game can get going again. I'll name the other British group...

Extended Hints:
* The picture is an indirect reference to a John Lennon song.
* The picture illustrates a song by Pink Floyd, and their song has something significant in common with a specific John Lennon song.

So the first step is: what is the Pink Floyd song?

And in the end

The love you take is equal to the love you make

Shine on You Crazy Diamond

Is the John song Lucy In The Sky With Diamonds , or is it a solo John song?

That's the Pink Floyd song, @kelicopter!john-lennon-salute_gif

There's a John solo song that has something in common with Shine On You Crazy Diamond.

I hope you can work it out.

And in the end

The love you take is equal to the love you make

I'll extend the hint again, and I think the puzzle will probably be solved this time.

Extended Hint:
* The picture illustrates 'Shine On You Crazy Diamond', which has something in common with a song on the 'John Lennon /Plastic Ono Band' album.

And in the end

The love you take is equal to the love you make

Hi, @sigh butterfly! Very good to see you posting again, and I look forward to reading about your visit to the UK.

Thank you for pointing out Lucy's post, and I'm sorry I missed it.

Instant Karma ! is a great suggestion, Lucy, but it's not the song I have in mind.

But of course!

@Richard Shine On You Crazy Diamond by David Gilmore has multiple rehashes of the same message, most notably

You were caught on the crossfire of childhood and stardom,

This is in common with Working Class Hero , in the second person, in the advice tone. paul-mccartney-thumb_gif

Thanks @Richard, these are good hintsI believe your hints bore fruitapple01

Hey @LucyInTheSkyWithHackneyDiamonds did you see Mick presenting at the Academy Awards last night. I do believe he got the biggest ovation of the night and seemed to be in great spirits!

Anywho, my brother is an obsessed Pink Floyd fan. He came to live with us on a little island in Hawaii for a few years in the 1970s. The day Animals came out he formed a line of one at what passed for our little local music shop. Somewhat unlikely, the owner had ordered 10 cassettes of the new album and my bro snagged the first one. Up until then he had played Wish You Were Here incessantly and I once knew all of the words. So this morning I started humming Shine On You Crazy Diamond and tried to remember the first lyric. Suddenly it came to me...

I do believe John also once sang about the the same memories in...Remember a-hard-days-night-john-7

Perfect, @sigh butterfly!john-lennon-salute_gif

The first lyric of both Remember (recorded in 1970) and Shine On You Crazy Diamond (recorded in 1975) is indeed: "Remember when you were young"

And in the end

The love you take is equal to the love you make
