Thanks, kelicopter. I was also thinking that it might be My Valentine ("What if it rained? / We didn't care")
Here's the next picture:

Hopefully, this game can get going again. I'll name the other British group...

So the first step is: what is the Pink Floyd song?

Shine on You Crazy Diamond
Is the John song Lucy In The Sky With Diamonds , or is it a solo John song?

Hi, @sigh butterfly! Very good to see you posting again, and I look forward to reading about your visit to the UK.
Thank you for pointing out Lucy's post, and I'm sorry I missed it.
Instant Karma ! is a great suggestion, Lucy, but it's not the song I have in mind.
John (music)

But of course!
@Richard Shine On You Crazy Diamond by David Gilmore has multiple rehashes of the same message, most notably
You were caught on the crossfire of childhood and stardom,
This is in common with Working Class Hero
, in the second person, in the advice tone.

Thanks @Richard, these are good hintsI believe your hints bore fruit
Hey @LucyInTheSkyWithHackneyDiamonds did you see Mick presenting at the Academy Awards last night. I do believe he got the biggest ovation of the night and seemed to be in great spirits!
Anywho, my brother is an obsessed Pink Floyd fan. He came to live with us on a little island in Hawaii for a few years in the 1970s. The day Animals came out he formed a line of one at what passed for our little local music shop. Somewhat unlikely, the owner had ordered 10 cassettes of the new album and my bro snagged the first one. Up until then he had played Wish You Were Here incessantly and I once knew all of the words. So this morning I started humming Shine On You Crazy Diamond and tried to remember the first lyric. Suddenly it came to me...
I do believe John also once sang about the the same memories in...Remember
