I’ll go ahead now as I might not have the right Paul song anyway…

Donald Duck’s girlfriend is Daisy Duck, and the picture clue shows a Daisy Bell.

Daisy Bell (Bicycle Built For Two) is a song written in 1892, and it’s the first song to have been sung using computer speech synthesis (by an IBM 704 computer) in 1961.  It was famously featured seven years later in 2001: A Space Odyssey.  The song’s chorus is:

Daisy, Daisy, give me your answer, do!
I’m half-crazy,
All for the love of you!
It won’t be a stylish marriage,
I can’t afford a carriage,
But you’ll look sweet upon the seat
Of a bicycle built for two!

The Paul song that came to mind is Junk, with the lyric “Bicycles for two”.

That’s my guess, but Paul may have made a similar reference in another song?

Awesome deducing @Richard. That one was pulled directly from Paul’s lyric book. I never knew that there was a connection between the two songs. I almost posted this image, but I thought it would be too obscure.

I’m looking for a song along the lines of George’s Blow Away. The closest one I could find is Just That Way from the Change The World EP. The chorus goes:

The sun comes up, the clouds slip away
Sometimes life is just that way
If the sun comes up, the clouds drift away
Sometimes life is just that way

Thanks Rich, that was some uplifting Ringo. By coincidence in a few weeks he is appearing around the corner from where I live. The concert has already been cancelled twice in the last 3 years (I finally cashed in my tickets), so I’m sort of waiting to the last minute. Balcony is only $44/seat so “not too dear”.

Let’s do a George tune.

It’s Johnny’s Birthday

(because it looks like it might be a celebratory drink)

Yes, I find many of Ringo’s songs and lyrics to be uplifting. Hopefully, the concert will go ahead this time, and that seems a reasonable price for a fun evening with Ringo and the band. Please post afterwards if you go – I would be very interested to read your comments about the show.

No (x1)

It’s Johnny’s Birthday

Not me song, but the right decade.a-hard-days-night-george-10

There is a lot of nostalgia attached to this particular Ringo hometown visit because the venue is where I saw my first concert. Besides the multiple cancellations, I’m trying to be extra cautious health-wise because my travel plans are looming.

Simply Shady

“Somebody brought the juicer / I thought I’d take a sip”

I’m still being quite cautious. I expect it’s a tricky decision for you (about whether to attend the concert or not) because of your travel plans – I’m not sure what I would do in similar circumstances.

That’s a correct guess @Richard! A little later in the song “I clung onto a straw”. I must admit I’ve never fully understood this album.

Oh boy, another spy show from the sixties (I must find a Man From U.N.C.L.E. image). Lets see, I believe this is Mrs. Peel of The Avengers fame who worked with John Steed to battle all sorts of blue-meanie. The actresses name was Diana Rigg. It appears she has some sort of contraption to defeat the bad guys, so I’ll guess Save Us (In the heat of battle, You’ve got something that’ll save us).
