I Don’t Want to Face It
His inspiration was Coming Up .
And Paul is not facing the camera in this picture.

Thanks for the suggestion, AG, but SB has already guessed that song.
I’ll add another hint below.
No (x4):
Oh My Love
#9 Dream
I Don’t Wanna Face It
(Forgive Me) My Little Flower Princess
Hints:
* It’s Paul in the picture.
* This is a John song on Double Fantasy or Milk And Honey .
* The puzzle logic would still work if Yoko replaced Paul in the picture. However, the logic wouldn’t work if Paul’s image was replaced by one of John, George, Ringo, Cynthia, etc.

AG & I are having a bit of trouble with this. However we haven’t given up and that is an intriguing clue.
Yes, I expected that it had to be Paul in the picture puzzle; then I discovered that remarkably Yoko could take his place instead.
To the best of my knowledge, nobody else’s image would be appropriate for this puzzle’s logic.

After consulting with a poster named abeautifulrayofsunshine in a Mclennon forum, I have come into a list of nicknames.
Pet names that John and Paul called each other, ultimate Mclennon edition
What John called Paul:
- Baby Paul
- Paulie
- Bunny
- My little flower princess
- Princess
- Johnny
- Dear
- Babe
- Baby
- Love
- My love
- Darling
I’m assuming the lyric we are seeking contains one of these words (since John could only be referring to Paul or Yoko when using them). So I’ll try (Just Like) Starting Over
Why don’t we take off alone,
Take a trip somewhere far, far away,
We’ll be together all alone again,
Like we used to in the early days,
Well, well, darling

That’s an interesting list from abeautifulrayofsunshine. It’s off the main path as we are not really seeking a specific lyric; the solution is along a different line of thinking. I’ll extend the hints (in bold), and I hope that helps.
No (x5):
Oh My Love
#9 Dream
I Don’t Wanna Face It
(Forgive Me) My Little Flower Princess
(Just Like) Starting Over
Extended Hints:
* It’s Paul in the picture.
* The puzzle logic would still work if Yoko replaced Paul in the picture. However, the logic wouldn’t work if Paul’s image was replaced by one of John, George, Ringo, Cynthia, or probably anyone else. I already knew the Paul link, but Yoko’s self-same connection was quite surprising.
* This is a John song on Double Fantasy or Milk And Honey . It’s on the original version, so songs that were only issued as later bonus tracks can be excluded.

Good evening Rich,
Ok, I thought it might help to create a visual aid. It appears that there are still 10 songs under consideration. Looking at the list I just recalled that the song Woman by Peter and Gordon came up recently in the Baker’s Dozen game. Paul McCartney wrote the song under the alias Bernard Webb. Later John Lennon wrote a song by the same name for Yoko. Perhaps in your image Paul is looking away from the camera to hide his identity?
“Cleanup Time”
“I’m Losing You ”
“Beautiful Boy (Darling Boy)”
“Watching The Wheels “
“Woman ”
“Dear Yoko”
Milk And Honey
“I’m Stepping Out”
“Sleepless Night”
“I Don’t Wanna Face It” {already guessed}
“Don’t Be Scared”
“Nobody Told Me”
“O’ Sanity”
“Borrowed Time”
“Your Hands”
“(Forgive Me) My Little Flower Princess” {already guessed}
“Let Me Count the Ways”
“Grow Old With Me ”
“You’re the One”

That’s a great suggestion, SB, but it’s not the song I have in mind.
No (x6):

(Just Like) Starting Over
Woman
Yes, you’ve listed all of the remaining songs, and the appropriate one is in the list. I have two more hints, so I’ll post the first of the two now.
Hints:
* It’s Paul in the picture.
* The puzzle logic would still work if Yoko replaced Paul in the picture. However, the logic wouldn’t work if Paul’s image was replaced by one of John, George, Ringo, Cynthia, or probably anyone else. I already knew the Paul link, but Yoko’s self-same connection was quite surprising.

“I’m Losing You “
“Beautiful Boy (Darling Boy)”
“Watching The Wheels “
“Dear Yoko”
“I’m Stepping Out”
“Nobody Told Me”
“Borrowed Time”
“Grow Old With Me “
* The location is an important factor, but the general kind of location rather than a specific place. It’s a composite picture, and Paul might not have visited physically but he has been there figuratively.

Still working on this Richard. Been thinking about the Brownings today, but can’t quite place Paul and the tropics in the song.
Planned cover for Grow Old With Me featuring a gender swap. Not sure who the mustached gentleman represents.

I didn’t know if Grow Old With Me was intended as a suggestion, SB, because you mentioned that you couldn’t place Paul and the tropics in the song? So, to be fair, I won’t add to the count for it.
(I’m not sure what character he is representing, but I think George Maciunas is the other person in that remarkable photo.)
I’ll give another hint at this stage and a shout-out to Joe.

Thanks for the guidance and free guess Rich! I’ve been considering Borrowed Time today. I see two definitions of “borrowed time” in the dictionary.
1) an uncertain and usually uncontrolled postponement of something inevitable.
2) to continue living after a point at which you might easily have died
The first portion of the song references John’s youth. The inevitable event from #1 could have been the Beatles breakup
The second portion of the song references John’s adult life. The near death event from #2 could have been the dangerous boat trip to Bermuda.
As far as why only Paul could be in the image, the line with “my friend” seems specific to Paul.
The outro line “I know she loves me” seems just as specific to Yoko.
Why Paul is staring out at the ocean is still a bit of a mystery? Perhaps he too is contemplating living on borrowed time at 80. Maybe he is finding the Bermuda Triangle as intriguing as I do.

That’s very interesting reasoning as usual, SB, but I’m afraid that’s not the song.
Let’s have another hint: it’s a short one, and it might be the key piece of information.

I may have finally thunk it Rich!
It would appear that there was a popular BBC show in the 80s named Desert Island Discs. Paul appeared on the show which would explain his location in the picture. It seems the premise is to pick your favorite songs and Paul chooses John’s Beautiful Boy (Darling Boy). Later Yoko appeared on the show and also picked the same song. I can’t verify this, but can I assume that they are the only people who have appeared on the show that picked Beautiful Boy (Darling Boy) as their fav?

Yes, that’s the song, @sigh butterfly!
Desert Island Discs was first broadcast in 1942, Paul was the guest (the “castaway”) for the 40th Anniversary edition in 1982, and Yoko was the castaway 25 years later in 2007. As far as I know, they are the only guests who have chosen Beautiful Boy (Darling Boy) as their favourite.
Desert Island Discs is still going today, making it Britain’s longest-running radio programme, and other guests have included: Brian Epstein, George Martin (twice), Keith Richards, Eric Clapton, David Gilmour, Bruce Springsteen, Elvis Costello, Rick Rubin, John Cleese, Michael Palin, Eric Idle, Steven Spielberg.
There are two Desert Island Discs threads on the forum:
https://www.beatlesbible.com/f…..les-discs/
https://www.beatlesbible.com/f…..land-disc/
I might post my selections but I find it difficult to narrow it down to a relatively small number of songs.

Thanks Richard, that was fun. I vaguely knew about the show, but had no idea it was such an institution. It’s cool they also let the castaway bring a book and a luxury item. I recall that they had a desert island list in the local rock magazine called BAM. They must have pinched the idea. Anyhoo, it was interesting doing a deep dive into John’s musical awakening during the Bermuda vacation. I’m a lot more familiar with the Milk And Honey album than I was before this game. New image coming soon…

Paul McCartney : music
It appears that the gender swap photo far predates the Grow Old With Me recording and has nothing to do with the Brownings. We did one of these old-timey family costume photos once in Albuquerque (New Mexico).

That’s the one Rich! Since that was one of castaway Paul’s music choices, I was pretty sure that would be an easy one. One of my parent’s friends lived for Chet Atkins (Mr. Guitar) and the Million Dollar Band. He didn’t think much of rock music, so this collaboration would have been quite a surprise. Here is the tune written by Paul’s Dad James.
This is nice too…
