(I wasn’t sure whether to give this its own topic or put it under miscellaneous questions, so feel free to move it if it fits better under that one)

I was talking to my friend the other day, and I brought up the Beatles. She remarked that “the Beatles weren’t the first or the best.” I didn’t have the time to ask her exactly what she meant by that, or whom she thought really were the first and the best. I’d like to know what you guys think of this statement. In what ways, if any, were the Beatles the first and the best? In what ways were they not? How correct is my friend? Or is what she said too subjective to truly be “correct”?

That statement is WAYYYYY too general and somewhat subjective– first to do what? Best at what? It’s true that the Beatles weren’t the first to play electric guitars and write their own material, and it’s true that they weren’t the best musicians ever.

For ‘first’, it depends on what you’re talking about; as for ‘best’, OF COURSE THEY WERE THE BEST that’s highly subjective. ahdn_george_01

@Egroeg Evoli, this thread may be of interest for your question. What makes The Beatles the best?

Far too subjective a subject without expansion of details. I’d suggest getting her to write a 30,000 word essay along with a PowerPoint presentation so to provide us with a clear understanding before we answer further.

Some people have changed their names over the years, @Egroeg Evoli, and you need to use their original name to @them on your phone. A full list of name changes can be found here. To @Ahhh Girl you need to use cbatcu.

Welcome back. Again. a-hard-days-night-george-10

@Ron Nasty Strange, it wouldn’t work at all on my phone (kept adding letters that I hadn’t typed), but when I switched to my iPad, trying your old name didn’t work, and it only worked when I used “Ron Nasty.” Oh well. Guess I’ll be using my iPad from now on.

And thank you apple01
