Meet the Beatles for Real has photos and recollections of Paul’s 22nd birthday party in Australia (includes a reference to a 50-year-old slice of cake).

Using the term “fan” liberally since the person in question was thoroughly unimpressed, but he met his wife as a result of crashing a Beatles press conference.
It seems a bit of chutzpah really paid off in those days.

I guess that’s one way to meet your wife!
By hook or by crook, I'll be last in this book.

Another Meet the Beatles for Real story, this one about Tony Taylor, a professor who wrote a paper about Beatlemania, and interviewed John for the project. Includes link to audio of him talking about the experience.

If I had an essay to write about Beatlemania, sadly, I don’t think that I could get Paul or Richard to interview.
By hook or by crook, I'll be last in this book.

A very special Meet the Beatles for Real, focusing on a woman who has, in various interviews over the years, claimed to have slept with John in Sydney in ’64.

Meet the Beatles for Real article on the guy who was seen hanging outside Paul’s home on his birthday.
As a side note, quite a few fans at Paul’s official board were vocal in their displeasure about the guy hanging outside his home, and I have to say I agree.

I’ve walked past Cavendish Avenue a couple of times, though I haven’t hung around and it didn’t occur to me to take my ukulele. Unlike some on the Macca board I didn’t really see a problem with what this guy did, apart from writing his name on the 19th century wall outside. That was a dick move. The rest of it seemed like nothing Paul can’t handle – someone sang a song for his birthday, wished him well, then left when he was asked to.
However, the MTBFR article did shift my opinion a little. If I was McCartney and knew that someone had been hanging around Soho Square and Cavendish Avenue, then I saw him waiting outside my house, I’d start to wonder if he was a little more than ‘just a fan’. The guy sounds harmless but McCartney isn’t to know that. Also, he spent TEN MINUTES writing a message on the wall with a pen. That’s just vandalism. He even continued doing it after McCartney had asked him to leave, and didn’t seem to see anything wrong with that.

I just don’t think we live in a world where we can assume that someone hanging out around someone’s house is harmless. It may not be more than Paul can handle, but why should he have to? I think it’s invasive.
If Paul weren’t famous, and someone was hanging outside his home, that’d be considered creepy (in fact, my own landlord had to build a gate mostly because a neighbor down the street sometimes approaches the women in my building and watches us leave for work, and he even went so far as to knock on someone’s window). I don’t think that should change just because of a person’s celebrity.
7/5 edit: A recent article at The Express mentions that Paul’s home has been blurred out of Google maps. That suggests to me that dealing with fans outside his home is a bigger hassle than we can imagine.

A kid got a selfie with Paul and Warren Buffett.
Edit: An article on Paul and Warren Buffett having dinner in Dundee, with five photos (more if you keep scrolling down).
Edit2: Another fan got to sit down with them:
Edit 3: More photos compiled at the McCartney Photo Blog.

Better not be Dundee, Scotland. Doesnt look like Dundee in Scotland – no one is falling out of a pub and Paul isn’t wrapped up in 5 jackets and a scarf.

I know – the one time I wish I lived in a small town, lol. I love all the pics of Paul holding ice cream. And it’s really nice to see young people so excited about a Beatle.

That is nice, like the comment in the article about that man taking pictures for his daughters.
It must be really annoying to have people circle you taking pictures while you’re trying to eat some ice cream.
All the small town Forumpudlians better watch for Paul.

A video of the professor talking to Paul.
I’m sure Paul appreciated being told that no one stood up for the Wings songs, lol.

What a lovely thing to tell a musician – “that show you did, the first half of it the audience didn’t sing along at all”. Well.

Honestly, who says that? And I’m sure there were lots of Wings fans in the audience…
Btw, for reference when you’re looking for Paul at your local ice cream shop, Where’s Pauldo:
