So that's a good thing that happened then, right? You probably got a lot better at the guitar

These are all very sad stories that just make you appreciate The Beatles more than ever. They have hands down helped me get through so much in my life. On average I've lost someone significant to me every 2 and a half years of my life. Including my dad and cousin which were the hardest that really put me in a sad place. Let Be and Blackbird definitely gets me through everyday problems and Here Today I can't ever listen to without breaking a tear. Also I think The Beatles help get through daily life whether you like someone and they don't know, new love, old love, friendship, heartbreak, the list goes on. It's just great knowing them well enough to be able to find the perfect song to match your feelings everyday. Also, having not come out to my family or most of my friends the constant battle is always helped by a certain few Beatles songs that I listen to daily.
When are you free to take some tea with me?

The Beatles got me through exams. I know it sounds kind of stupid compared to a lot of the stories posted in this thread so far, and I applaud you all for your bravery and courage
But yes, exams were kind of difficult for me, and although I ended up failing most of them, the music reminded me that everything is going to be alright.
They're also currently getting me through high school. I used to go with the flow and do what people wanted me to do before I found the Beatles. Now I'm my own person and it's helping me to get through my education much more easily.

The Beatles made me a hippie and made me try drugs and transcendental meditation.
^Haha.
Their music gets me through "growing pains"; school and such. I have a very positive outlook on life because of them. They get me through break-ups, deaths, when I'm down in the dumps, PMSing (Yes. PMSing), and basically everything. Their music is always there to pick me up.

So I asked this question on Reddit's /r/beatles, but I thought you might like to answer as well.
For me, they do. I've got severe depression and anxiety, and listening to the Beatles is pretty much the only thing I do. They've certainly inspired me musically (I've know absolutely no music theory, but I just play what sounds right) and I'm calming myself down by blasting Day Tripper on full volume out of my headphones. I try to write more songs when I'm like this but I have to have my keyboard at a low volume so it doesn't really help; I'm just too panicky to even focus.
I'll admit that it's kind of odd that a person, like myself, troubled by unrequited love, is listening to (mostly) happy and jolly love songs. But there's just something about them that takes my mind off things.
How about you?

All I know is that when I was very suicidal and depressed, I was curious, I looked up this band called... "The Beatles". Their music spoke to me in a way, they talked me out of the horrible mess I was in. The Beatles pretty much saved me.
And also, I like to listen to Good Day Sunshine , A Day In The Life , and Good Morning Good Morning in the Morning when I wake up and Golden Slumbers and Good Night at Night. On weekends I tend to listen to "Im Only Sleeping" in the mornings.

Hey there new people,
I've been a heavy user of Beatles for some time to get me through rough patches.
When I was 14 and my Father died suddenly, that's where I turned. And over the last 5 years of a terribly bitter and destructive custody battle with a truly terrible sociopath ex, again the Beatles help center me.
I understand what depression is like and I've lived a crushingly hard life. The Beatles always help clear and center a muddied mind.
Feel free to PM if you ever need to talk privately.

For me too, the answer is yes.
I have listened to nothing but Beatles music for almost a year now. I only listen to music while I'm in my car...which is several hours a week due to city driving. I have almost all their CD's and I listen to them every day. If I do listen to music at home, right now I will put a Beatles radio station on my computer and listen to the Beatles that way.
I have been a lifelong fan and they have brought me through many, many difficult times. Difficult "teen stuff", through having seriously ill children, through a divorce, through the death of my Dad and last year, the death of my sister. My sister's death has really caused an even stronger bond to the Beatles for me. The Beatles music was something we shared together, grew up with, fought over, LOVED together...and listening to them, makes me feel closer to her.
Isn't it amazing that the Beatles have done all of that for me...and for so many others too?

For me, the answer is yes and no. Music in general does, but The Beatles are my favorite band ever, so they factor largely into that.

I wouldn't say the Beatles. Honestly, I haven't listened to the Beatles in a while. I should get back through again.
Anyway, music is probably the one thing (outside of living things) that I love most. All of it. Especially Beatles, but music is such a huge thing for me. I haven't had any problems with depression or anything of that nature (yet, I'm still young), but music is really the only thing I'm always in the mood for, and it never fails to make me happy.
That and Paul invitation videos for his shows. Ohhhh I just thought of if he comes to Pittsburgh and makes one of those I may spontaneously combust.

Definitely. Not going into it but music on a whole does and The Beatles are top of the tree.
This is me too - lots of great music with the Beatles at the front / top / head / ummmmm.
I have around 10 artists I really like and I have finally got around to getting a decent collection of CDs from all of them after the big LP sale last century. They are definitely helping keep me on an even keel. Oh, plus looking at my books - I just had a 100+ year old set of Britannica re-bound and they look great! Just seeing them so solid and dependable (GREAT article on the Renaissance) is kind of reassuring in an odd way.
