So I've decided to buy all of the original 13 (counting MMT) albums on vinyl, in their original UK release versions.
But here's the rub: I want to buy international versions. Nothing U.S., U.K. or Canadian (because I'm Canadian!). The weirder, the better.
I want to buy them in order, and I want YOUR help.
When you get a free moment, wander over to http://www.ebay.ca/ and start looking for a vinyl copy of 'Please Please Me ', AKA 1/13.
Here are my parameters:
- I want to keep a limit of roughy $50.00 CDN (Canadian) as the maximum total for each album INCLUDING SHIPPING! Check the shipping costs to Canada.
- I want to do one a month.
- I will document the saga with pictures.
- We'll deal with one album at a time, in order.
- I prefer just doing a Buy-It-Now, but if any interesting auctions exist, tell me about it!
So... Let us begin...

Heres a French one going for US$9.99 + unspecified shipping and you need to contact the seller. Some of these are damn expensive.
Ooh Greek lp US$9.99 + US$18 shipping charges.
Both auctions.
My enthusiasm will soon stiffle and dissipate.

Satan - have you seen the discography section? Loads of weird and wonderful international variations. Might be worth you looking through there to see one that you like, then trying to hunt it down. The Japanese ones are particularly interesting, and I love the Greek version of Rubber Soul .
Can buy me love! Please consider using these links to support the Beatles Bible: Amazon | iTunes

And here's the first one! It was flying under the radar, auction-wise, so I slipped in at the last minute and got it!
Now to wait for it to arrive, and then we can start looking for 'With The Beatles '.
So I've got an original UK version (5th pressing, but still...). Now I'll stretch my legs and start looking around the globe...

Yeah, this comes in really handy to get an idea of what I might be looking for. I really like some of the Russian stuff (which isn't listed there), like the cheap paper cover for 'The White Album '.

I don't think he'll be able to get it... Very few were issued with this cover before they were replaced by the UK cover version.
Sont des mots qui vont très bien ensemble.

So I'm closing in on a copy of 'With The Beatles ', but I need your help.
In keeping with the spirit of the original idea, I want to do something *different* and get some international editions. I had my eye on a sweet German Odeon pressing of 'With The Beatles ', with the big green band on top. I missed out on it, so I need you help me find another...
...OR... Find me something else cool, as long as it's the original tracklisting of 'With The Beatles '. The Canadian version, called 'Beatlemania!', is too easy so I won't be doing it.
Remember to check out http://www.ebay.ca as I am a Canuck!

The first one is a CD.
But I'm watching the Australian copy. If there are any bids on it by the end of the day, it might get out of my price comfort zone.
However... http://www.ebay.ca/itm/BEATLES.....440wt_1163
This is pretty cool... Doesn't have the original obi, but it has the booklet!

Does it not matter that the Japanese copy has "a few scratches"?

From Wikipedia:
The term is also used for a strip that is looped over one side (usually on the left) or folded over the top of LP albums released in Japan

I went a few dollars over what I wanted to pay, but it ensured that the shipping wouldn't take 2 months.
First pics come this weekend. They will be interesting.
