I was at work today, and the topic of the Beatles came up. The person couldn’t name all the Beatles, sang Let It Be as if it was attributed to John, and asked which one died. Total ignorance. Made me so thankful that I discovered the Beatles when I did and they’re so strongly a part of my life. If not, I could be as dumb and oblivious as that person to this band, which is a very sad thought. The songs and the personalities of the fabs existing but me not caring. I’m so glad that’s not the case.

Well my vacation I am currently on has been Beatle filled alright

1. I have been educating my younger cousins (ages 11 and 10) about the Beatles. According to the 11 year old we have figured out who each of the Beatles look like. Paul (1967) is “your local Mexican waiting for you to order a dang cheese quesadilla” George (1970 something) is “looking like Jesus. No wonder our aunt is walking with him” John (1969) is “I never thought Thomas Jefferson would’ve came back in the 1960s!” John (1964) “Donald trump” Ringo (1967) “will Byers with a Mustache” I hardly know who will will Byers is but here we are.

2. My uncle was talking about where John Lennon got shot and I gave an entire Wikipedia page from my brain about when, where, why, how and so on.

3. the 11 year old cousin bought me a little music box thing at a gift shop here In VA and the song was Let It Be . I am happy

4. In a restaurant I heard Sun King play

5. while in the activity center of our condo me and my cousins painted pottery. The guy who ran the front desk said we could listen to whatever music we wanted. Since I am the oldest (and musician in our group) I played RAM to everyone.

6. I impulsively bought the White Album . I spent every penny I had on it. No regrets

i hung the 4 photos that came in the White Album above my door frame so now i see all of the beatles as i exit my room. i don’t have space on my walls for the massive poster so i might have to hang it on my closet door.

This morning at middle school jazz band i had a beatley moment…

I am having to play the bass part on an acoustic guitar because my (50lbs) amp and bass aren’t accessible. We are getting a floor replacement in the actual band room.

So we’re playing birdland. band director stops us and then says “Neely, it’s like you’re playing Hello, Goodbye on an acoustic. It’s just not right”

I naturally start playing Hello, Goodbye

A shop in Glasgow sells Beatles badges so bought ‘BFS’ and ‘RS’. I hadn’t realised before that all four Beatles stand in the same order and on the only two album covers (meaning UK and in their original time frame (’62 – ’70) in case someone brings up a Bulgarian release).

Yeah I think I noticed that a while back, kind of funny. I do like how both covers are basically the same idea/similar composition yet the execution and colors are so, so different and perfectly suited to the albums they adorn. Really crystallizes how much they grew in just one short but eventful year, too.

Yeah. It’s been said so often but on the cover of ‘BFS’ they just look completely knackered and have closed ranks whilst on ‘RS’ they are refreshed, ready to go and look cool as fuck. It’s also interesting that on ‘BFS’ John and Paul are behind Ringo and George yet on ‘RS’ they are in front.

Watched King Charles III’s speech to the Bundestag (the German parliament), and talking about cultural ties between the UK and Germany, he said something like, “be it The Beatles or Kraftwerk”.

My band director, a few other kids, and I were cleaning. The director was guessing all of the kids’ celebrity crushes. He got to me and my friend Pepper (her last name) said “probably someone from the beatles” and i just let out a sarcastic “haha” and then director moved on lol.

Found a ‘Revolver ’ canvas on my travels so my main livingroom wall will have ‘Rubber Soul ’, ‘Revolver ’, ‘Pepper’ and ‘Abbey Road ’ canvases along with ‘AHDN ’ and ‘Help !’ films signs.

I think that’s worked out pretty darn good.

Went to Adelaide and walked past the town hall a number of times. It’s where The Beatles visited there and stood on the balcony, looking down at an army of people. Pretty cool slice of history even if it was for a brief moment in time.
