I was packaging an online order today and saw this address – obviously I blotted out all but the relevant part:

That street intersects with Pauls Penny Lane . beatlemaniacs_02_gif

There’s another one that intersects with Glass Onion Drive.

I have to keep going now. One that intersects with Penny Lane , Sgt Pepper Court, and Abbey Road .

And this takes the cake. And eats it too. If you find it on Google maps and Zoom in, you’ll find more interesting names. These are just paths in a marshland.

I was in NYC two weeks ago and of course I had to go to Strawberry Fields. It was quite emotional for me. There was a really talented musician playing some Beatles tunes. I requested Borrowed Time, he didn’t know it. Requested You Are Here, he didn’t know it. a-hard-days-night-john-7

Someone requested Let It Be and he played it beautifully but John did not write that song. Finally got one he knows with Tomorrow Never Knows (it was 420) but he said it was too high for him to sing so he went with Lucy instead. Finally I got one he knew and could play with YGTHYLA which of course he did a fantastic job with.

Get Back was performed at half time during last night’s game. Wasn’t bad actually. It was a welcome sound especially after the usual dirge and downbeat ballads. Beatles music is often upbeat and catchy.

I went on a London Beatles walking tour guided by Richard Porter today. We met outside of the Tottenham Court Road station exit 1.

While I was in Soho Square, I took two photos of a Food For Life van because it had a Hare Krishna theme to it.

Next, we stopped at The London Palladium in Argyll Street where The Beatles performed in three times.

I almost went on a Richard Porter waking tour, but I decided I didn’t need to because I was going to have @Ron Nasty to guide me.

A couple of days ago it was ‘My Sweet Lord ‘ (the newest promo video) followed by ‘It Don’t Come Easy’ on a tv music channel. Just now it’s ‘Revolution ‘ then ‘Mull Of Kintyre ‘ playing in a pub.

I went on the Beatlemania! 1961-1965 walking tour guided by Adam Scott-Goulding in London today. We met up outside of Embarkment Station.

IMG_20220624_104532.jpgImage Enlarger

First, we walked to The Playhouse Theatre where The Beatles recorded a session for the BBC Radio Show, Saturday Club on 31st March 1964.

IMG_20220624_105733.jpgImage Enlarger

Next, we went to Trafalgar Square where The Beatles and Neil Aspinall visited for the New Year 1962 celebrations.

IMG_20220624_111404.jpgImage Enlarger

This is the London Pavilion where The Beatles had their film premieres.

IMG_20220624_112122.jpgImage Enlarger

Afterwards, we walked to the Prince Of Wales Theatre where they did their iconic performance for The Royal Variety Show on 4th November 1963.

IMG_20220624_113425.jpgImage Enlarger

This used to be the Ad Lib Club where The Beatles would hang out. It’s also the place where John and George unknowingly took LSD for the first time in their drinks.

IMG_20220624_115410.jpgImage Enlarger

This is 13th Monmouth Street where the location of Brian Epstein’s NEMS office used to be from 1963-1964. It is now Cards Galore.

IMG_20220624_120049.jpgImage Enlarger

On our last stop before Abbey Road , we walked to Denmark Street where The Beatles’ music publisher Dick James held his offices.

IMG_20220624_124126.jpgImage Enlarger

I wrote ‘I love John, Paul, George and Ringo’ on the Abbey Road Studio wall.

IMG_20220624_124753.jpgImage Enlarger

After the tour was over, I went to St John’s Wood Collectables in Violet Hill. Before I entered, I took a photo of the life-size cardboard cut-outs. The shop is small. I didn’t buy anything from there, but I had a lovely chat with the owner.

Came across this on my travels yesterday. Upper Abbey Road would be a great name for a deluxe collection.

I don’t know where to post this and I don’t think it’s worth making a new topic for but there is  a web game based on The Beatles where you you have to identify their songs after just 2 seconds : https://beadle.gg/

I discovered it thank to this video.

It’s one song per day. Have fun !a-hard-days-night-ringo-10

Glad you enjoyed it !  I discovered, there is a free play mode (without the one song per day rule) too if you go to the “Home” button. It’s quite addictive !

I’d love a version of this where you have to recognise a song from the drum beat.

My hot take is that after the Beatles split they went down the paths of spiritualism, solipsism, alcoholism, and Paul McCartney
