While looking up info on a publisher, I found this…
“[We] have the highest praise for Skyhorse Publishing and the joy of working with Publisher Tony Lyons and Group Editorial Director Mark Gompertz. Tony’s unconditional support for our book and his deep commitment to making the world a better place gave us the perfect home to create a New York Times bestselling children’s book series and the ability to reach countless families with our message.”

Currently, I’m watching a docuseries-type show on Netflix called “Ugly Delicious” which dives deep into exploring different types of food and the culture that drives and surrounds it, whether good or bad, and the episode that I’m on tackles Indian food and all of the misconceptions and perceptions about Indian food and Indian culture in America and the Western world. Well, one of the Indian-American guests on the show was talking about India’s “two or three big moments in Western popular culture” and the first “moment” was when the Beatles went to India with the Maharishi.
I really do love it when my boys pop up in some random show I’m watching

I was watching the movie “Stargirl” on Disney+ because I’m under quarantine and a cover of George’s “Give Me Love (Give Me Peace on Earth)” played during the credits and for a small part during the movie.

Ah I love it when Harrisongs especially get recognition! I get 10x more exciting hearing a George tune in unexpected places!
2 second derail: I’ve been avoiding “Stargirl”, though, as much as possible because I can’t stand Grace Vanderwhaal and the entire “quirky” girl trope that they movie’s trying to milk ugh

I actually like Grace VanderWaal and I just happened on the songs she performs in the film yesterday, which I really like, although I haven’t seen the film because Disney+ is for people who have money. Her music is one of my guilty pleasures.

Eh I respect her as a person and her accomplishments but her overall vibe and the vibe of her music is just not for me

^Fair enough. I can only get into certain songs, to be honest, but those I like, I really like.

I was under a tree at lunch, sitting down on a field of grass, with a gentle breeze. Mother Nature’s Son was playing in my head, and I felt at peace.

I’m spending my days reading, and I checked out a copy of Haruki Murakami’s Men Without Women short story collection. And of course the first two stories are called Drive My Car and Yesterday , though sadly the former did not feature the eponymous song at all I’ve previously read Norwegian Wood , so I knew Murakami was a Beatles fan. It was still a treat though.

I was reading through the Wikipedia page for one of my favorite albums, Father of the Bride by Vampire Weekend, and I came across a few Beatley references.
The double album’s wide range of musical styles has been compared to the Beatles’ White Album (1968), although Koenig considers the album closer to more thematically cohesive double albums such as Bruce Springsteen’s The River (1980) and Paolo Conte’s Aguaplano (1987)
and
The anthemic and extravagant “We Belong Together” is the third and final duet with Haim, and has been compared to “Mull Of Kintyre ” (1977) by Wings and the production work of Kanye West.

Our postal service is giving every household 2 postcards that we can send to anywhere in Ireland so people can keep in contact with one another (and so that we all fall back in love with the postal service, I imagine). The tagline of their campaign?

Delivery services and grocery stores are two industries that are making a killing these days, I imagine. I’ve never seen so many FedEx/UPS trucks driving down the street as I have in the past couple weeks.
Sorry, that was fairly off topic. Maybe we do need a thread just for nattering about pandemictimes.

I just got that cover in my YouTube recommendations and I was very surprised and pleased to see it. And also to hear it.

My friend just shared this with me.
Out of quarantine boredom, she painted the cover of Abbey Road on one of her art supply drawers. I think it’s wonderful!

BeatlebugI've been up on the mountain, and I've seen his wondrous grace,
I've sat there on the barstool and I've looked him in the face.
He seemed a little haggard, but it did not slow him down,
he was humming to the neon of the universal sound.
