Stories go around that many of the youtube viewing figures for songs are manipulated by record companies as the higher # of viewers = the more prominently displayed the video = more folk see it = more chance they’ll buy it = more money – well thats the idea, more likely they’ll illegally download it.
They get ad money, like Anna said, even if it doesn’t sell music. And I do think they get the views higher, which is what makes things like this occur! People no one have heard of matching records set by The Beatles.

Offline As far as I can come together, Oasis, Imagine Dragons, and Black Eyed Peas cannot play music (and Black Eyed Peas stole the Let It Be cover
).The Stones are okay, but they pretty well trashed themselves. As per Sgt. Pepper /With A Little Help From My Friends and A Day In The Life , I’ve never heard A Day In The Life on the radio and rarely heard Sgt. Pepper and With A Little Help From My Friends .

Offline noise101’s comment on Iggy Azalea recent equaling of a Beatles achievement, they aren’t too impressed. Never knew that nowadays 64 on youtube is the equivalent of the purchase of 1 music download the song. Metro’s reporting on it is well worth the read as well.

All those songs got fm airplay in the late 60s. A Day In The Life , when the DJ needed a wc break. I think Joe Cocker’s version of With a Little Help from my Friends got more airplay than the Beatles’ version though (one of the few covers songs that surpassed our team’s original – imo).
OBM: It was the first really nice, sunny day of the year last week, and I heard Here Comes The Sun at the pharmacy.

I guess, now that radio stations are computerized, there is no need for a toilet break, hence no A Day In The Life . And idiots who don’t appreciate the music would think their radio was broken (especially at the end). As per Here Comes The Sun , I think I’ve heard it once in a while but I’m not sure!

Offline When playing or working with my dog, I use methods learned from watching Cesar Millan. He says one way to keep your dog from chasing things is to “claim” them. In other words, place yourself between your dog and the object of it’s desire while having an attitude of “that’s mine”. For example, “my bird”, “my squirrel”, etc…
While out for a walk this morning I found myself thinking “my bunny…lies over the ocean”
To the fountain of perpetual mirth, let it roll for all its worth. And all the children boogie.

I just got into the rental car…Imagine by Lennon is playing!
I’ve heard Imagine a few times. It’s the only song they play by John’s solo career (Except for Happy X-Mas (War Is Over), but that’s only during the holidays. The most common Wings song i hear is Live And Let Die , followed by Band On The Run , Jet , Maybe I’m Amazed (Wings Over America ), Listen To What The Man Said, and My Love.

Offline At school, today, I saw this older girl walking by. She had a t-shirt that read “Sgt. Pepper ‘s Lonely Hearts Club Band”. Normally I am a very shy person, but today I plucked up the courage and shouted “Hey! I like your shirt!!!” She just looked at me and smiled. I don’t know if she actually likes The Beatles, though…
