I’m all for doing a Beatles-Bible house band, I have ‘Linda-at-the-beginning-of-Wings-keyboard-skills’ if that helps in any way. Also some tin-whistle ‘Fool on the Hill’ solo anyone?

Actually me and mr Kite were discussing that

In all seriousness, though, imagine that! It’s a shame everyone on here’s spread out Across The Universe and we’re all different age ranges with all different styles. I’d love to meet people near me though with a potential chance of making a tribute band. My family’s always been musical on both sides: a few members of my family have actually been in minor bands. But as I said, I lack the confidence and motivation to meet people and it’s all delusions of grandeur for me. Unfortunately, due to this, thinking of potential success brings me down even more and I don’t want to go any lower than I have now – remember my story about Elizabeth a while back? Yeah. I still haven’t gotten over it, and everything everyone says is going right through me.

Sorry for rambling there; I always have to bring this up. It’s hard to admit it but I just want to be given some hope and sympathy for this. Because tough love – the truth – only brings me down further. Help – I need somebody. Not just anybody. a-hard-days-night-ringo-6

We could do an online band and have people record other parts and send it to the.mixer arranger person and they upload it

Well I’ve found music is the one universal medicine. Whenever you’re down just turn on The Beatles and cheer right up. Works for me

Exactly what I do. Full volume, expensive headphones I got for Christmas – I don’t care if I get tinnitus!

I might upload some videos of me on the piano (or guitar when I get it and I’ve learnt the chords). A lot of people start fame from the internet, and I guess it’s just nice sharing it with the world. But nothing compares with singing to a crowd at your heart’s content. Singing is therapy for me. Whilst I might not be great at it, I love singing loudly – it’s just a shame because I never really get that chance. At home I have to be quiet, and that makes me feel reserved and kind of trapped within myself, therefore making me feel worse, and at school I’m not very confident. But being in a band, making some friends over one shared interest and just having loads of fun belting stuff out at your maximum volume is absolutely amazing, but I’m limited where I am now. I’d love to do it. I’ve also thought about filmmaking but nobody wants to make films with me and I’m just anxious that it’d be really cringeworthy.

Well, you say that NOW…but you should seriously take care. Tinnitus SUCKS! (Not speaking from experience, happily, just anecdotal stories.)

I wouldn’t mind being in a covers band. I’m ok at guitar however I think my vocals are below-par

I don’t play any musical instruments and my singing leaves much to be desired (except more singing).
Therefore, I would be happy to provide tea and sympathy.mal-evans

I can do Yesterday vocals, and acoustic guitar. I just need a string arrangment. I can do Ringo vocals for all his songs and guitar for Act Naturally . Strike up the Beatles Bible Band!

By hook or by crook, I'll be last in this book.

Maybe we can start when you return! We all miss you (I think), Faceo!

But back on topic, I’m going to see a Beatles tribute band right now! It’s stormy out though and it’s outside so I hope they can still play…

If I spoke prose you'd all find out, I don't know what I talk about.

The tribute band was really good! They had all the right instruments, wore suits, they usually change into Pepper uniforms, but there was a delay due to weather so they had no break! They started with I Saw Her Standing There and finished with The End , as it should be… Here is the set list as best I remember it, in roughly the order it was performed hopefully not omitting anything.

I Saw Her Standing There
I Want To Hold Your Hand
Rock And Roll Music
I Feel Fine
Please Please Me
It Won’t Be Long
Do You Want To Know A Secret
This Boy
A Hard Day’s Night
All My Loving
Love Me Do
If I Fell
She Loves You
If I Needed Someone
Day Tripper
Eight Days A Week
Norwegian Wood
The Ballad Of John And Yoko
Birthday
We Can Work It Out
While My Guitar Gently Weeps
Sgt. Pepper ‘s Lonely Hearts Club Band/With A Little Help From My Friends
Twist And Shout
Paperback Writer
Let It Be
Golden Slumbers /Carry That Weight /The End

I believe that’s all of them, orders probably completely off though! Only disappointments were backup vocals on If I Needed Someone and the solos on The End . “Paul” went over to the piano so there were two guitars playing when there were four on the record (although I think they just omitted the rhythm for that part) and they missed some of the parts of the solos, they didn’t hit wrong notes, just didn’t play. “Paul’s” signing was also a bit ambitious at times but still pretty good.

Otherwise great show, the singing on This Boy was amazing, they got the lead guitar to sound like a sitar for Norwegian Wood which was interesting, the end of It Won’t Be Long , also amazing. “George” did a nice Clapton for WMGGW, during The Ballad Of John And Yoko , I think the “John” actually sounded like John. Paperback Writer was complete with Frere Jacques, but sadly bass didn’t seem loud enough on that one. The “George” did all the solos wonderfully, and was a pretty good singer too, even played harmonica for Love Me Do . The drummer was on spot the whole time, he did a great job, and on the one Ringo song they did you could tell he had the Ringo vocal range, he did pretty well except that he didn’t quite hit the last note of the song (but they had to force that one out of Ringo for the record, so that was forgiven.) The “Paul” played keyboard pretty well for the last few and was a really good bassist, the “John” took the Hofner over when the other guy was on keyboard and was also good. That was the only time they didn’t represent The Beatles correctly (playing the right instruments and singing the right song, etc.) besides during Please Please Me which I believe the “Paul” sang.

Wow! If I have this much to say about a tribute band you better all hope I never see a Beatle! I’ll write a novel!

Overall amazing show, very fun. I have some clips I recorded that I’ll stick together tomorrow and post for you all (if anyone cares.) Great show!

If I spoke prose you'd all find out, I don't know what I talk about.

@parlance They were called Across The Universe , here‘s their website, but when you go to sample clips it plays them all at once, so if you want to hear them you have to go to the two separate YouTube videos.

There are several excellent Beatles tribute bands and there are some unsavory ones. I’m sure there are several tribute bands you can buy a dime a dozen because somebody thinks they sound like the Fabs. But it’s not just the Beatles. There are several other artists that have multiple tribute bands!

By hook or by crook, I'll be last in this book.
