I'm pretty certain that my 'rents don't want me to get any tattoo of any kind. Saying that, my uncle is a tattoo artist so I COULD get a really sneaky one. If I did choose one, it would probably by lyrics from 'Across The Universe ' or something like that. I wouldn't really get their faces tattooed unless it was silhouettes from Abbey Road or them jumping.

If you would be so kind, I would like suggestions on what lyrics I should get for a small tattoo? I would like them to relatively short. Here are a few I have considered.

How about you go the literal route and have just the words “…under your skin…” done on your shoulder?
Personally, I think tattoos are kinda annoying. They used to be fairly unique, but now everybody’s gotta have one, and not just a small unobtrusive one but great big ones up and down their hands and forearms. Real eyesores, if you ask me. (Which nobody did, I know, sorry. Just my opinion!)

“The movement you need”, surely?
I kind of agree with you on tattoos. But then I’m not really a fan of body mods in general. I’ve never seen one that’s made a person look better than they did before. But it’s your body, go for it.

I’ve always wanted Beware Of Darkness tattoo somewhere in my body. But now I want a War and Peace symbol, the shape of a Hoffner Bass, an Om and a five-point Star. They represent John, Paul, George and Ringo. I think it’s not that obvious…

Quite a clever idea, Mith.
My tattoo idea is from a turquoise scarab beetle pendant that I used to wear on a necklace when I was little. I bought it on a school trip to the British Museum. Scarab beetles symbolized “good luck” in Ancient Egypt so it was like my lucky necklace, and I used to wear it for exams etc. But I lost it a few years ago, so I want it tattooed to bring my good luck charm back! And ofc the beetle/Beatle link.
I did also consider lyrics, probably the “Life is what happens…” one in my signature, in John’s handwriting. But idk, it’s a bit too long, and a bit too cliché, so I’ll wait and see. Stick with the smaller one for now. (That’s if I ever have the guts to get anything at all.)
I think it's great you're going through a phase,

Thanks for fixing that, Joe – it started as one thing, turned into another, and finished up as neither…

Since I’m a hip and awesome college student (in my mind), something that has come up in recent times between my parents and myself is the subject of getting a tattoo. Something interesting that I’ve seen are Beatles-related tattoos.
Although my parents completely refuse to allow me to get one, I just wanted to know the opinions of the rest of you: do you have any tattoos? What would you think about a Beatles-related tattoo? Would you get one?

I’m seriously considering getting a tatoo with SF and an infinite symbol to represent Strawberry Fields Forever .

I would never get a tattoo, and if it’s as painful as it sounds, I don’t think it’s worth it. I would prefer to be branded, like a cow or a piggy. Though I wouldn’t want some number, I would rather it be my name for identification purposes.

Dont have one and have never been interested in them. What happens if in 5 years time you want it removed, is it not meant to be really painful to get off? Could never go thru with that.
Each to their own tho, some look great on folks others look rediculous – but the same can be said for hats. When it comes down to it if you want one later in life then get one and to hell what folks say (this is after being over the age of consent).

I kinda agree that it isn’t really worth it.
I’m actually fascinated by them, but I have to keep reminding myself: if I do get one, will I really still want it when I’m 50? And is it worth it to get it and then regret it and get it painfully removed when I don’t want it anymore?
(Not trying to change anyone’s opinion, just stating my own)
If I was to get one, I’d probably get the words Jai Guru Deva Om on the inside of my arm, mainly because it has, apparently, like 15 meanings, and I LOVE confusing people with stuff like that.
I also just always loved that part of Across The Universe , so, yeah.
Don’t expect me to ever actually get one, though.

I wouldn´t ever get one cos I don´t think it´s worth it and what if, like others have said, I don´t want it anymore when I´m old and wrinkly? But they look quite cool on some people. And what´s more cool than a Beatles-related one?? Surely there isn´t one cooler than that.

I’m really glad that I decided to ask this! I feel like society is all about instant gratification these days, so I’m glad that I can get the opinions from more of an impartial source rather than someone who has a strong opinion on how I live my life. (not control, just opinion.) It makes it easier to think things over now that I have more insight. I mean I’ve seen some pretty insane Beatles tattoos, but to each his own, I suppose

Well, I’m not actually 100% impartial: To my mind, if I can talk one person out of a tattoo, then that’s one less tattoo that I’ll never potentially have to look at! So I’ve got selfish reasons to advise against it. I just think there’s too much useless decoration in the world already – billboards everywhere, adverts all over the ice on the hockey arenas, people filling up internet messsage boards with endless avatars and animated gifs, AARRGGH MAKE IT GO AWAY!! What is wrong with a plain white surface??
Sorry to hijack your thread for ranting purposes! If you really need a Beatles tattoo, why not a small unobtrusive one on the upper arm, where sleeves will cover it most of the time?
Paul: Yeah well… first of all, we’re bringing out a ‘Stamp Out Detroit’ campaign.
