Yeah it’s the difficulty of marketing a perfume, you can’t smell a television ad- so you have to show what your life could be like if you use this perfume.
One of my favourite perfume ads is for Dior’s J’adore, doing that contrast of classic Hollywood stars: Grace Kelly, Marlene Dietrich and Marilyn Monroe, with new Hollywood, Charlize Theron.
Pretty simple although the CGI has aged quite a bit since it first aired 7 years ago.
Chanel consistently does great commericals for both No. 5 and Coco Mademoiselle, this one starring Audrey Tautou being a personal favourite (although the relationship is a tad bit stalkerish…to say the least).

I don’t get it. The last one seems to have the message of if you wear this perfume you will be stalked on a train and then around the city by a guy but hey he’s cute so what the hell! Just go with it. She’s not that pleased looking when he creeps up on and starts sniffing her neck.

^ Well so long as he’s attractive, it’s ok for some guy to creep up behind you and sniff you on the neck, follow you across Turkey, and wait outside your train compartment while you sleep.
I like the cinematography and I like Audrey Tautou so .
Hate the smell of No. 5 though, reminds me of a perfume an old woman would wear (sorry to any No. 5 wearers).

I’m sure he won’t be reading this, but there’s nothing cowardly about not fighting back.

What would you name a band that has the following members:
Julian or Sean Lennon
James McCartney
Dhani Harrison
Zak or Jason Starkey?
How about The House of the Rising Suns?
Any other band name ideas?

Though all those suggested by JW as members, @50yearslate, have pursued careers as musicians while, so far, none of the daughters have (we have yet to see what Beatrice will want to do as she finds her place in the world).

Too bad Heather never pursued a musical career – she’s the only one who actually recorded with the Beatles (not technically offspring, though, I guess)

Maybe not biologically, but she definitely counts.

Which reminds me, there’s a quote from Paul in a book I have, “Heather, my eldest daughter, went out with Billy Idol. Just what a father needs. . . . Dear me!” (It’s in From Yesterday To Today by the editors of Life magazine)

Stella got flack for posting this on Twitter
Stella captioned the image: “So honoured to have HRH Duchess of Sussex in our Autumn ’19 coat at Remembrance Day service. x Stella #RemembranceDay.”
Instagram users subsequently slammed Stella over her “disrespectful” choice of words.
“Using remembrance day to advertise your clothes is a little disrespectful!! People died and you take pictures of people showing respect for advertising purposes. Just wrong,” said one critic.

I dont think I care that much, personally, that she made that post. It doesn’t seem that disrespectful to me. Then again, it’s quite difficult to offend my sensibilities

What’s the problem with Stella’s post, it’s not like she included a link and added “buy now”. We live in a world where almost every piece of news coverage is filled with what some nonentity thinks or is wearing purely because they are deemed to be a celebrity/famous. No doubt a magazine article is out there grading the royals and others on their appearance at the memorials anyway.
I’m more prone to wonder why we should care that a particular royal is paying their respects as I would hope everyone does in their own way – I’d also find it hard to identify 95% of the royalst if asked.

I would argue the problem is not with Stella but rather the fact it’s Meghan who is wearing her designs, as I’ve said before I’m no fan of her but the media will drag her for any little thing she does (she gets a lot of flack for allegedly ‘merching’ clothes, in exchange for getting them for free/on loan, which technically the royals aren’t allowed to do).
The designer for the Queen’s coat on Remembrance Day did the same thing on his Twitter (can’t bloody remember his name now though) and there wasn’t a peep of controversy.
Personally I think the post is tacky and badly thought out, especially the “in our Autumn ’19” quote, might as well have just written “IN STORES NOW!” and list a direct link to the website

Zak Starkey’s new album, The Who Hits 50!, originally due on 22 November, will be released on 6 December. Zak has been kind enough to allow Pete Townshend and Roger Daltrey to front the album, and has agreed for it to be credited to The Who.
We know it’s all about Zak though!!!
