The NBC series has  hit a snag because Sony/ATV wants to make their own series on a cable network.

If I seem to act unkind, it isn't me, its just my mind that is confusing things

A number of Beatles programs and films have used sound-a-likes for the music and the actors simply mime to the music (some films don’t even bother and just play the music over the action), however the bands generally suck and make you want to break the tv.

Yeah, true. And it sucks. Better to not use them at all sometimes, in my opinion.

The only film that comes to mind in which they’ve used a real Beatles song was that facebook film. It had Baby You’re A Rich Man playing at the end. There are probably a few more though.

Mith created a thread about this topic

https://www.beatlesbible.com/f…..e-beatles/

I’ll see if I can find any other threads like it. I know there is a separate one for commercials.

EDIT: at the moment, Mith’s thread is the only one I see on the topic.

* And this seems like a lawsuit waiting to happen: Outrage at new computer game where The Beatles are forced to sing in German for the Nazis

[snip]

A second Wogblog article reports on the upcoming Blue Plaque in memory of Brian Epstein which “will be unveiled at 12 noon on Sunday 29th June, at Sutherland House, 5/6 Argyll Street, London W1 next door to the London Palladium”

I thought about this post when I saw this story from the Liverpool Echo about a tour you can take of Liverpool’s Blue Plaques. The article describes the ins-and-outs of the Blue Plaque that I didn’t know.

As Brian Epstein is about to be honoured with a Blue Plaque in London, the ECHO looked at the homes of the famous you can see on Merseyside

Bessie Braddock – legendary left-wing firebrand; John Lennon – possibly the most iconic pop star in the world; Captain Noel Chavasse – renowned war hero. All three have Blue Plaques in Liverpool, quite deservedly commemorating their association with the city.

Paul Beesley, chair of the Association of Liverpool Tour Guides, is in no doubt of their value.

Liverpool was the first city outside London to be chosen to have an official Blue Plaque and, outside London, it has the largest number of English Heritage Blue Plaques.

“The most viewed plaque in Liverpool is, without a doubt, the one on the childhood home of John Lennon ,” explains Paul.

“And the question guides are always asked is why there is a plaque at John’s but not at the home of Paul McCartney ? The answer is simple; someone can only be considered for a plaque 20 years after their death or 100 years since their birth.”

Just as an aside, I found this while searching for this topic.

It just doesn’t seem right that Paul and Ringo should be using phrases like “OMG”, “WTF”, and “LOL”. They’re in their 70s.

By hook or by crook, I'll be last in this book.

Paul has added a Greensboro, NC date for October 30.

Also, he’s made a video for US concertgoers.

I still can’t believe I’ve seen Macca twice and both times were Free!

Once in Quebec City (6 hour drive), his Free Outdoor concert and once in Montreal Quebec (2 hour drive), when someone gave me 2 free tickets!  FREE!

Heck, I’d pay to see him….a-hard-days-night-paul-7

This potential tv show/series has been mentioned in the news thread a couple of times. If/When the show ever gets Off The Ground , I think that would be an appropriate time to start a new thread on the topic. I wonder if it will come out before the McCartney remasters are done? Who wants to volunteer to keep tabs on this race?

There’s Joe’s book, Let It Be on dvd and All Those Years Volume 2 to add to those two. Oh and the Live Project which was announced after it was forgotten.
