The Shea stadium disc looks interesting. I’m interested in the topic of Elvis + The Beatles but that one looks a little pricey.

Examiner reports that Paul has blocked the sale of a lot (a cape, suit and a scrap of paper with three lines of lyrics) at auction two days before bidding begins claiming he would never have given permission for them to be handed on to anyone. A quote from the article, more can be found at the line.
The auction house said the clothing was given to Rose Martin by Linda McCartney about 30 years ago. Martin was his long term housekeeper and nanny to his children who died last year. But McCartney and his legal team say the items belong to him and have demanded the items be returned.
“Unfortunately the lawyers have claimed that Paul would never have given any clothing away,” stated auctioneer Paul Fairweather. “Rose always told the family that it was Linda that had given them to her but as both have unfortunately passed away neither story can be corroborated.” The suit, lot #170, was from the movie “Give My Regards To Broad Street ,” the auction house said.

Ultimate Classic Rocks reports that a BRILLIANT letter from John to Phil Spector, written during the LA Rock ‘N’ Roll sessions, and currently in the hands of Jesse Ed Davis’ family is coming up for auction.
Titled by John, “A Matter of Pee”, it refers to an incident when Harry Nilsson and Keith Moon pissed on the recording console at A&M, and A&M threatened to evict. It’s fantastically funny, “I can’t be expected to mind Adult Rock Stars.”
It’s estimated between $6,600 and $9,900 dollars. I can see it going for much more!

Wonder why Ringo’s cape was worth more than the piano.

It could be that two buyers were wanting it, got involved in a bidding war and it drove the price up beyond the piano. Plus its easier to store a cape; cant shove a piano in a cupboard or hang it on the wall without some extra hassle.

It could also be that George and Ringo’s capes were actually worn by them, and feature in the film and on the album cover, while the piano – though John and Paul may have played it, and worked on songs between takes – was merely set dressing owned by Twickenham Studios.
In a way, it’s more interesting that Ringo’s cape sold for more than George’s (especially with, being slightly ghoulish, but accepting that that’s how it is, the fact that items associated with dead celebrities tend to sell for more than those associated with the living).

The issue with that thought Ron is that George’s cape went for £3.5k less than the piano, surely it would have been higher for both if it was down to them wearing it.
Maybe for Ringo’s they threw in the Help ! LP to help make it sell.

From WogBlog:
The movie “A Hard Day’s Night ” will be screened on Tuesday 29 April at 8:15 pm at the oldest cinema in Leeds, England, the historic 102 year old Cottage Road Cinema.
*snip*
This 50th Anniversary show is presented by “Leeds Back In The Day” and the promoters say that this will be the only screening anywhere in the UK of A Hard Day’s Night .
That seems so strange to me.
