Going by what the programme synopsis says the manager was an incredibly unpleasant person, whether or not he has changed is to be seen (or found out by recent reviews from folks who have stayed there).

They also have a broken link for rates availability. Given that the copyright hasn’t been updated since 2011, I had to question if the place is even still functioning. It’s too bad, seems like an ideal base for one’s Beatle pilgrimage.

Pics of the Museum at WogBlog. A bit odd the entrance features paintings of John and George but Avedon photos of Ringo and Paul. I know they’re gone, but it’s a little spooky.

Seems to still be open. According to the rates & availability section on the site, rooms are doubles and family (sleeping 2 to 4), and are between £100-£120 a night, with checkout at 11am. Though I wouldn’t recommend it until after I’ve seen the programme!

Also on 6 February, on BBC Radio 4 at 6:30pm, Mitch Benn Is the 37th Beatle, a programme based on his Edinburgh Fringe show. “Declaring himself number 37, Benn spends a cheeky, musical half-hour running through the other characters on his list…”

I just sent Oyster Black Pearl a PM to see if he can find out anything about it since he is in Liverpool.

Out of thoughts is it better/worthwhile to have a separate thread for upcoming shows on the tv & radio etc instead of them getting lost in a news thread. Would it make it easier for folks to be able to locate and find out if anything is upcoming and worth keeping an eye out for?

I suppose it depends if people check this thread or not. I do, like most others where there’s new posts, but I dunno about anyone else.
If people don’t really come here then I suppose it’s a good idea. I’ve done a check and we don’t have a thread like that already.

I like the idea of a tv/radio alert thread. Maybe it could be pinned too?
I’m subscribed to this news thread so that helps me.

Since I missed the original discussion on the Grammy’s, I’ll post my thoughts: First, Ringo can’t sing. It sucks, but he really can’t. I’m glad Paul won the awards he did. I’m really disappointed that they played Queenie Eye though. Why didn’t they play a Beatles song? Get Back would have been an excellent choice there.
And finally, the sight of Yoko Ono dancing to Get Lucky is the best thing ever.

I thought that Ringo was fabulous. Queenie Eye on the other hand fails to grow on me.

I love Queenie Eye ! Just thought that they should have done Beatles there. Is this going to be like Jet , or Dance Tonight, or Hold Me Tight again? Why don’t you like anything?

It’s upbeatness is good i like that and the verses aren’t bad. Its mainly the chorus as it bugs the living daylights out of me, the lyrics being so lame, for example “i haven’t got it, it is isn’t in my pocket”. It’s a 2 year old’s song-writing. And then the so cheesy you can smell it thru your tv “O.U.T spells out – OUT!” and its raised hand/finger pointing/whatever. I get that’s based on a game he played as a kid but that line was so laughably lame in Christmas Time (Is Here Again), tho it got away with it as it was sung by Ringo is his normal doleful manner, here its just a huge turn off. And then its followed by “without a shadow of a doubt”. Just no. No! No! No! No! NO!!
The video sucks too.
