I know the article refers to them as kimonos, but the correct name for the jackets they’re wearing is a happi.

Some more, via Maccaboard, about Paul’s tour in Japan:
Arrival at the airport.
Article at Japan Today, which mentions, among other tour-related events, that Paul’s Osaka concert will be streamed live (if I can find a link that’ll play outside Japan, I will post).
And an enterprising company has created a temporary Beatles-themed cafes in Tokyo and Osaka.

Via Paul’s FB: he has designed a Sgt. Pepper version of Pudsey for a charity auction. I don’t think we have that character here in US, but this one’s very cute. Bidding is already over one thousand pounds.

Pudsey’s not so much a character, as the mascot the BBC’s Children in Need telethon.

Ah, thanks for the clarification. Makes me wish there were little beanies of an entire Sgt. Pepper set to purchase.

A sign of life in the 50 years celebrations after all maybe.
I wonder if this is meant to make me excited.

Julian‘s making the rounds. He was on The View and he did a taping of Katie Couric which will possibly air today.
Also, the latest auction of the White Feather Foundation is in its last few hours, and includes an autographed copy of Julian’s Photograph Smile.

* On the way home, I heard a commercial on the radio for the film version of the 12-12-12 concert being released in select theaters in New York and Los Angeles this Friday. You can see the trailer here. BTW the DVD is available to purchase, and the reviews are dismal.
* The Examiner reports on an interview at Billboard with Live At The BBC Vol. 2 co-producers Kevin Howlett and Mike Healey:
A new interview published Nov. 12 with Kevin Howlett and Mike Heatley on Billboard.com about the new Beatles release “On Air: Live at the BBC, Volume 2” included the intriguing news that a new Beatles archival project is in the works.
* Liverpool Echo interview with The Fifth Beatle film producer Vivek J. Tiwary.

* Apparently there’s a new Special Collectors Rolling Stone on Paul that’ll be on newsstands until February.
* WogBlog reports on a new ebook by NY Times music critic Allan Kozinin called Got That Something .
The new e-book chronicles the birth of the John Lennon –Paul McCartney -penned song and explains how it became the hit single that sparked the British Invasion.
“In Got That Something ! the author paints a vivid picture of the legendary songwriting duo at work, and the emergence of this distinctively British-sounding tune that — contrary to the assumptions of American record labels — became beloved in the United States, paving the way for the invasion to come and the lasting impact on American music that continues even today,” the Times said.

Paul’s letter to V. Putin in support of some Greenpeace activists is on Paul’s web site. I have not figured out how to post a link using my phone. If no one else has by the time I get to a computer, I’ll post a link.
