Well, I understand that. Good you have priorities. There’ll be other contests. I just want to see someone from this board win one someday!

Turns out there is a tumblr that uploads Beatles radio shows, including LA’s Breakfast with the Beatles. So if you missed it or are outside the US, you can stream or download the interview with Julian (which started around the second hour).

Paul has some kind of game/contest to win a copy of the album. I don’t know who’s following Paul’s FB or official page who hasn’t bought it yet, but visit the link and try to figure out the rules.
Edit: It’s a signed copy.

Seems simple enough, apply for unique link code, send it out to as many people as possible, asking them to click on it, for every click on your unique code you move up the leaderboard, and at some stage one of those at the top will be invited to claim the prize (probably be checking the leaderboard) – and given 24 hours to do so, if not someone else at the top will be invited to claim the prize.

Just been searching the web looking for some original beatles merchandise and came across some who are holding a music and entertainment auction on wednesday and thursday (13th & 14th) November. Seems to be a fair amount of good beatles stuff for sale.
one particular lot of 47 beatles photos (some taken by the famous dezo Hoffmann) looks particularly interesting; I guess that explains the pricing estimate, though you can’t put a price on such original collections.
Maybe I should set my target a little lower!!
Anyone out there owning some original stamped beatles photos?

* The Examiner reports PBS will premiere a new documentary on Jimi Hendrix, and in it Paul talks about how The Beatles got him the Monterey Pop Festival spot. Here’s a video excerpt.
* You can stream some samples from On Air: Live At The BBC Vol. 2 at NME.
* Via Beatles News, The Guardian has an obituary by one of the children of Mike O’Neill, a session player who played with The Beatles. I haven’t yet been able to find which song(s) he played on, though.
* The Examiner reports that Dhani was a featured performer at Saturday’s LACMA gala honoring Martin Scorcese and Davi Hockney.

Nothing that I’ve written about here. Perhaps he worked on some solo stuff. There’s another Beatles connection though – that article says he was friends with Eduardo Paolozzi, who taught Stuart Sutcliffe in Hamburg (Paolozzi also worked with my aunt at the Royal College of Art – she gave me a signed print by him, which I have framed in my living room).
Can buy me love! Please consider supporting the Beatles Bible on Amazon
Or buy my paperback/ebook! Riding So High – The Beatles and Drugs

* Got an email from Genesis – official photos from Ringo’s Photograph event are up here. And if you’re feeling flush, the book and limited edition art prints are available to order. [x-posted to the Photograph book event thread]
* From The Examiner:
McCARTNEY AND SPRINGSTEEN: Paul McCartney ‘s surprise guest appearance at Bruce Springsteen’s Hyde Park London show for Hard Rock International that resulted in the power being turned off because the show went past curfew is included on the recently released DVD “Springsteen and I.” The McCartney footage is one of the bonus features. (Thanks to David Bacon, co-author with Norman Maslov of “The Beatles England,” for the alert.)
Also:
BBC BOOK GIVEAWAY: My “Things We Said Today” co-host Ken Michaels is giving away five copies of Kevin Howlett’s new book “The Beatles: The BBC Archives 1962-1970” (courtesy Harper Collins) with a special contest running through Nov. 21. Details can be found at his website.
* And as meanmistermustard pointed out at the Fifth Beatle thread, there’s a beautiful new trailer for the graphic novel.

21:00 hours is 9 o’clock. 19:00 is 7 o’clock. It will also be on the BBC iPlayer soon afterwards for a week.
Thanks for that. I do watch the beginning of the One Show as they have some good features and guests.
