1. The Beatles

In no real order:

Queen

Led Zep

Coldplay

Greenday

The Who

The Kinks

Simon & Garfunkel (they a band?)

Radiohead

ABBA (I am not ashamed)

Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers

U2

The Rolling Stones

So, I like a broad range. But nothing really on the charts today.

Because the wind is high, it blows my mind.

The Beatles have been my favorite band since I was eleven. It is just amazing that four guys who nobody knew anything about all became superstars within a music group with three lead singers, able to write, play and sing all their songs (even their cover versions were fantastic) wonderful and talented musicians and were able to improve in my opinion with every album they made trying to push the boundaries and set new standards.

The further one travels, the less one knows

Definatly. I used to never have a favorite band, but now there is no competition. THE BEATLES ARE MY LIFE.

My mind is far away, off in Pepperland…

Is there any other band you like to listen to when you’re just not in a Beatley mood?(Doesn’t really happen a lot.)

I must admit…. in my heart, The Lovin’ Spoonful and The Beach Boys are up there in the same place. Don’t judge me, please.

I have such a soft spot for all three though.

Note by Ahhh Girl 21 July 2014: Annadog40 pointed out that we had two thread on this topic. I combined them. The second thread began with post 233. There is a little bit of mixing of the two threads on pages 17 and 18, but not enough to cause distress.

I think it's Led Zeppelin or David Bowie for me. Well' David Bowie isn't a band, but you get the point. I am usually left in awe when I'm listening to them just like with the Beatles.

I listen to a lot of bands, but being a fan? Only U2, Caifanes, Mecano, Tears for Fears and Massive Attack. Roxette also comes to my mind, but I don't have their albums, just their singles. I also like Julian Lennon's last 2 albums a lot.Sadly, my music diet is only Beatles. I sometimes feel malnourished, I mean like when you eat caviar all the time???

Roxette was one of the first bands I ever liked without knowing who they were. “The Look” is one of my favorite songs ever and I especially loved it when I was like 3. It wasn't until the past 4 years did I finlly figure out who sang that song. I also love their song “Joyride”. They are a real fun band.

If you like Roxette then you should get their album Don't bore us, get to the chorus! with all their greatest hits. I play it very often in class and my students love it!

Radiohead

You all will have read that Dave Dee is no longer with us. But Mickey and Titch and I would like to carry on the good work that's always gone down in number two.

That's a tough one and like everything else it changes all the time. Having said that I probably listen to the Rolling Stones more than anyone else bar The Beatles.

My top 3 non-Beatle bands are The Allman Brothers Band, The Band and CSN(Y).

Bowie, Costello, Presley and Sinatra are in the team photo.

To the fountain of perpetual mirth, let it roll for all its worth. And all the children boogie.
