Hello everyone . I reckoned after months of loitering here it's high time I made a contribution so here it is but I cannot narrow it down to 10! It's too hard
20) The night before
18) You're gonna lose that girl
17) Nowhere Man
16) What you're doing
15) If I Fell
14) And I Love Her
13) You can't do that
12) No reply
11) I'm A Loser
10) The Word/ Yes it is
9) I want you (she's so heavy)
5) In my life/ A Day In The Life
4) Strawberry fields
1) Girl = Ill be back (can't choose between them)
I am so pathetic I can't even narrow it down to 20!!
But if you want money for people with minds that hate... All I can tell you is brother you have to wait. Alright.

Well, I believe I've found the most difficult thing of all time.
In no order:
Here, There, And Everywhere
This could change at any given moment.
Currently, it is this list (in no paticular order), although it often changes:
Something; Here, There And Everywhere; Helter Skelter; Strawberry Fields Forever; Help!; I Feel Fine; Here Comes The Sun; The Abbey Road medley; I've Got A Feeling; Revolution 1; Everybody's Got Something To Hide Except For Me And My Monkey..
Every time I see a post on this thread I think I should give it a go - but it's not possible - Mainly because I over think it (for example, should I factor in a song's impact? Some great songs aren't necessarily my favorites to listen to,…). I might possibly have a top 40.
But if I could only live with 10 Beatle songs the rest of my life (in no particular order):
Lucy in the Sky ...
While My Guitar ...
Hey Jude (I've come to re-appreciate the lyrics, the inspiration, the chord change from C to Bb and the scat singing during the na na na ending…)

Even if I only factor in what I like, I still find this to be an impossible exercise. As I wrote long ago on this topic (or in a similar one), when I try to choose my "favorite" Beatles song in any context (top 10, best on an album, etc.) I feel almost like that legendary mother in that myth who was forced to choose between two of her sons which would live and which would die.
At best, I find myself with a meaninglessly homogenous "Top 100" Beatles songs where they are all more or less crowded into the top spot of #1.
This doesn't mean I don't have distinctions in my mind among the various songs; but they are more distinctions among things I like for different reasons, different flavors, colors, textures, spices -- a horizontal stratification, so to speak, not a vertical one.

Wernecker put "I Call Your Name" on his Top-10 list (Nov 27) (welcome Wernecker) - haven't seen that before.
You might check out the Mamas and Papas' cover. This may be the only Beatle song done better by another performer.
Was does anyone else think?

One day, a tape-op got a tape on backwards, he went to play it, and it was all "Neeeradno-undowarrroom" and it was "Wow! Sounds Indian!"
