Hi at everyone!My name is Christian and I’m new here. I’m 25 years old and I’m from Berlin. I’m listening to Beatles since I was 14 or 15. I’m a really big Fan of the fab four and I love to play their songs on my guitar. I’ve never had guitar lessons, so I’m learning it on my own and sometimes I try to sing the songs. I find it very cool that you guys make your own cover versions and so I tried it, too. 🙂
I hope you’ll like it and please excuse me for my english.^^

It’s a mix of strumming and finger-picking. 😀
Cool! I do that too, when I play While My Guitar Gently Weeps Anthology version (that’s what George was doing).

Dude, that stuff was fantastic! And I say that as a musician who is easily annoyed by bad Beatle-covers!
All the vocals spot on, even “Oh Darling”, instruments as well great. And what also impressed me was how you got the atmosphere and special sound of every sound so right! I’m just afraid you spend not enough time outside or with other people… 😉

Offline If you like check out this cover of one of my favourite tracks.
I transposed it, because in D it’s just too high to sing for anybody but Paul.
Then I slowed it down a bit.
I took some inspiration from Stevie Wonder’s insane cover, noticable in the backing vocals and the lack of the 3/4-rhythm – which is a huge part of the original’s charme, but I didn’t feel like it fit here.
At the end I added a guitar solo, because that’s always fun to do.
I played the bass part with an actual 70s Hofner bass.

I won’t inflict my high school German on you but I liked this, you’ve got an almost John-like quality to your voice in that octave. I’m working on a techno cover of Tomorrow Never Knows myself, I’ve got the makings of it so far but there’s a lot to go!

Thanks a lot! My equipment is not that great, but I do my best to acchieve a nice sound (recording the acoustic guitars with mic AND pick-up, for example).
I have more Beatle-covers, one of my favorites is this one (haha, the big picture with the eyes is a bit scary!):
I don’t play the Flugelhorn, so I did the solo with the trumpet. 😉
I recorded this as some kind of bitter-sweet tribute, when my first wife left me (the other songs were “I’m so happy I can’t stop crying”, “I am a rock” and “April come she will”, all on soundcloud).
It’s hard to find a song that sums up both parties’ feelings as well as this one.

Offline Thanks! The backwards stuff was done with a terrible cheap acoustic guitar I have with strings that badly need replacing, no sustain at all 😀 I had to throw in distortion and a fair bit of echo and delay on it. I will probably do a remix anyway, most of it was done in Audacity and I should pull it into Audition and play with the nice effects in that, might make the backwards guitar a bit smoother than it is. Very pleased with the vocals, that was the first serious effort with my new AKG 220, there’s no EQ on that at all except for the telephone bandpass effect after the solo.
