Here’s 10 of my current favourites, featuring a lot of early tracks since me and my dad listened With the Beatles thru Rubber Soul on a car journey yesterday.
There’s A Place – Such a beautiful yet somehow obscure melody. Truly does take you to a different place.
Two of Us (might just be my all time favourite now)
With A Little Help From My Friends (I love the backing vocals, particularly on the line ‘would you believe in a love at first sight’)
Drive My Car (I didn’t use to like this one, but the bass line and guitar part has really grown on me)
All I’ve Got To Do – My favourite track on the LP. The vocal is one of John’s best.
Devil In Her Heart – I adore George’s guitar intro.

Looking at the last three posts from @Dark Overlord, @QuarryMan and @Expert Textpert, I think it’s very interesting to see that in these three Top 10 lists there are 29 different song choices. Only one song, Dear Prudence , appears in two of the lists.
I think it’s a great testament to the high quality of the range of Beatles songs! Some bands have one or two songs that are acknowledged as quality songs, whereas the Beatles have a considerable number.

Lol, this is my top 10 right now:
The Word
And Your Bird Can Sing
Hey Bulldog
Savoy Truffle
Tell Me Why
Getting Better
I Wanna Be Your Man
Sgt Pepper ‘s Lonely Hearts Club Band (Reprise)
She Said She Said
Sgt Pepper ‘s Lonely Hearts Club Band
Which makes it 39 from 40… (I’ll post why I love these songs later when I have time and if anyone cares to read them)
But the real point is,

The Beatles were capable of making songs that everyone can like, yet very few people will say ‘ugh that’s a really awful song’ when pressed about a random song (be it Fixing A Hole , Ask Me Why , or Long Long Long.)
No other band has that power, I don’t think.

Absolutely. IMO they don’t have any outright awful songs. They all have their own gimmick or personality that makes them interesting or unique. Revolution 9 doesn’t count either!

Another point worth mentioning is that there’s not a single track anyone can agree on about being bad, several songs here I consider among their very best.

I’m always dumbfounded by Holey’s ‘bad song’ selections. Incredible songs you’ve chosen. I’d recommend trying a few of them again.

There’s a lot of unusual stances on this forum when it comes to whether a song is good or bad, Holey’s definitely not the only one but i agree, some of those songs listed are great, especially Yes It Is .

QuarryMan, you make a good point. That’s what’s really special about them.
@sir walter raleigh to please you, I tried 3 random ones (Kansas City , For You Blue and Baby’s In Black ).
Kansas City shouldn’t have ever existed.
For You Blue is depressingly boring, Ringo must have been replaced by a drum machine I think.
I can appreciate Baby’s In Black , and even slightly enjoy some parts of it (harmonies, anyone?). Before today, I couldn’t, so thank you.
That said, no chance I’m ever liking I Want You.
