SB, I think the connection might be a little intimate touching?

I’ve never though that. The only real direct similarity is the “Can’t You See” fadeout, which is great. It isn’t as though they never did another Ticket To Ride -esqe fadeout in later songs.

The drum pattern is similar to my ears.

I can hear what you mean, Timothy, I think – like TTR, it’s got an oddly accented beat, with those three fast snare hits Ringo places at the end of every measure really drawing attention.

Actually, the beats on both of those tracks can maybe be heard as elaborations on the earlier “What You’re Doing ” drum pattern (itself often compared to Hal Blaine’s work on The Ronettes’ “Be My Baby”).

And if we go a little further (out) in time, we can maybe hear that basic lopsided beat twisted into an even more extreme derivation in “Tomorrow Never Knows “…

Paul: Yeah well… first of all, we’re bringing out a ‘Stamp Out Detroit’ campaign.

That’s it Rich. I don’t know how I missed that, especially the young ladies reaction. beatlemaniacs_02_gif
