Sgt. Pepper ‘s inner groove is an out of place 2 second loop that they put on there because they could, similar to Her Majesty or Can You Take Me Back, so why would there be an extended edition.

Because there will be an original tape of the recording before it could get into the ‘Groove’.
There is an extended ‘Can You Take Me Back’, it runs for over 2 1/2 minutes. And you could argue that there is an extended ‘Her Majesty ‘ due to the final chord being intact on take 3 which has also been booted.

Offline It could be argued that there are two “Extended” versions of the Inner Groove.
The looped version created for its release on CD, while a longer looped version was cut by hand for the mono vinyl remaster.

Oddly enough, that was the original intent of the inner groove “chatter” on this album. You have to remember that this album was made during a time when many turntables did not feature an automatic return. Instead, you had to physically remove the needle from the record once it reached the inner groove. Therefore, unless you removed the needle, the inner groove would play on and on.
