Surprising they got it out just in time for Valentine’s, According to Jeff Lynne the quality of the demo was absolute s**t and took him about a week or two fixing it up for new instrumentation then it got sped up for reasons beyond my understanding but I still think it’s more poppier and Beatlesy than Free As A Bird .

It was more successful than ‘Free As A Bird ‘ but then ‘Real Love ‘ was a more fully-formed demo resulting less work needing done to get it to a releasable standard. As for the sped-up vocal, no idea why but it was unnecessary.

Driza Boneis an international dance music / remixing musical ensemble, led by the record producers / musicians, Billy April and Vincent Garcia.
An easy mistake to make confusing the two with John Lennon .

Watching the promo video on Vevo as I haven’t seen it in ages. Does anyone know what the clip from 3:01 to 3:03 is and where its from? This is a screen capture of it.

Oh my, wardrobe malfunction?
To me, it resembles footage from Anthology and elsewhere as George was telling the story of his visit to San Francisco and his disappointment over discovering “spotty youths” who were all tripped out on drugs.
I don’t see the scene you posted, however, in this clip.

I added the 2015 remixes from the ‘1+’ DVD as for me they are far superior to the originals.

But what about George’s solo? Makes the song in my opinion.

George does do an amazing solo.
I like this song in general. The Beatles and John Lennon versions are both beautiful but I remember Paul saying that he felt like he and the other two were John’s backing band so it wasn’t as enjoyable as recording Free As A Bird as they got to do some writing on the song and I think it does show on the song but I still I like it.

I love both versions equally. Each one gives me a different feeling when I listen. I think I enjoy Free As A Bird more than both versions of Real Love , though.

The first time I listened to this song was at midnight and I was watching the video for it. I bawled my eyes out. This song holds a very special place in my heart and I’m already planning to play at my wedding when and if I get married.

When you’re bored at midnight and can’t sleep so you decide to watch the music video for ‘Real Love ‘ and tell yourself “I’ve seen it enough– I won’t cry this time” and then you start blubbering and crying into your pillow like a little baby because you just have to love the Beatles so much and you also just have to extremely miss John and George and be incredibly moved by a simple song and its music video
Okay I’m done now….I’m going to go cry so more probably but yeah, it be like that sometimes

I used to like “Free As A Bird” more than this one, but as I listened to it more and matured my tastes, I realized that this was the superior Threetles song. It’s such a great sweet lyrical masterpiece by John.
