In Money (That's What I Want), for the longest time I thought John was singing "Money don't get everything it's due, but it don't get back hand used".  Which I never thought made any sense.

But for the most part I could always hear what the Beatles were saying pretty clearly.  I'm sure that's something that contributed to their popularity.

Compared to Led Zeppelin, where I understood almost nothing Plant was singing.  Of course I was usually listening to Page anyway.

Literally thought all my life that the one lyric in Twist And Shout   was "let me load up your mind" and I was always like 'hehe another sex reference' but no. Today I watched Ferris Bueller with subtitles and I found out that the lyric was not what I thought, and is, in fact, "let me know that your mine," which is kind of lame compared to my misinterpretation, not gonna lie.

Oh well I'm still singing "let me load up your mind" either way screw it a-hard-days-night-george-10

@Getbackintheussr I love it! I can't stop hearing that now, but I love it.

This may have already been said up-thread about Rock And Roll Music , but even though I knew the right lyrics as a kid, I sang it as “It’s got a black beat you can’t blues it.” Still do sometimes.

Hahaha yes translating from the Plantish is quite difficult sometimes... plus, even when you can understand him, his lyrics are often very cryptic poetry anyway.

Also BeeGee 'silly Beatles standing there' is amazing, I'm going to hear it that way from now on. john-lennon-salute_gif

On topic but off base... the other day I was listening to an '80s mix while working out.  Human League's "Mirror Man" came on and it reminded me how I used to sing it back then.  "Here comes the Mirror Man. Says he's a Beatle fan."
