It might’ve probably been noted on the thread already, but I think the appearance of the handholding motif in both these lyrics

makes this a fairly well thought out (and obviously hugely successful) Capitol pairing. (And they worked fab well opening “Meet the Beatles” too).

Oh, and throw in “If I Fell ” as well to complete a trilogy, that’s got some handholding as well…

I’ve been scanning the lyrics of both Paul’s “Nineteen Hundred and Eighty-Five” and his actual hit from ’85, “Spies Like Us” (theme to the Aykroyd/Chase comedy vehicle) to look for lyrical continuity, but couldn’t really find anything beyond a “…no one…” and  “no one else can dance like you…”/ “…shake it baby!” (Plus the “you and me against the world, my love” theme that’s common to so much.of his stuff.)

…But there IS a Hollywood connection! Dan Aykroyd and “Band On The Run ” cover model Christopher Lee worked together professionally, appearing in Steven Spielberg’s over-the-top ’79 comedy attempt, “1941”. The script was by Bob Zemeckis and Bob Gale, whose previous collaboration with Spielberg was on the pair’s writing/directing debut: A very funny film called “I Wanna Hold Your Hand”, which has its own thread…
