Paul demonstrating how brilliantly effortless his talent is. That voice that would melt icebergs from the equator, singing a melody that is bloody hard to do, not merely to hit the notes accurately but to hold them for that length, and that ending harmony, try beating that. Singing the bass too because he can. This is one of those bloody annoying songs because its so simple, obvious and why did no one think of it before Paul? It sounds easy but it isn't. It's a classic.

^^Yeah, I kind of feel the same way. It's fine aloud, but on headphones, the vocal bass is distracting.
Otherwise it's a perfect track.

I can't quite go that low. Almost, but not quite. Also don't have any recording equipment (starting to sound like a broken record).

I love singing both parts, though I can't get to the lowest bass notes after I've been singing for a while. When my voice is rested, though, it's quite easy to reach. Lately, I've been having a go at Paul's bass-part in To Know Her Is To Love Her, which is great fun, as well. He should've sung that low more often; it's a whole different voice we rarely get to hear, but which has a really nice sound.
Anyway, JPM-Fangirl!
Personally, I don't find I Will that complicated to sing. But even if I did, it'd still be one of my favourite Beatles songs. I just love it so much!

I have that problem as well, if I sing high notes for a while my high notes sound great but my more iffy low end is destroyed. And if you can sing that bass part then I probably could if I actually bothered to, since I think my range is a couple notes lower than yours.

Is it? I thought we were about the same; anything below A2 is hit or miss for me, but I Will doesn't even go that low. It really depends on the time of day and how much I've been singing or talking. And when I have a cold, I can go much lower. But at the same time, I lose some of my range at the higher end. You phlegm some, you lose some...

Ah really? For some reason I thought you posted (in the vocal range thread) that yours went down to about D3 or C2. Mine stops reliably at C2, though I can occasionally get B2 if it's not too long. And if I've been singing, say, Kansas City then I start to sound a bit hoarse at E3. Then again, if I've been singing Kansas City then I sound hoarse anywhere...

Oh, hey, what do you know, it's not actually that low. I don't think he even goes below C2-- it actually overlaps the melody quite a bit. It just sounds 'bassy'.

I'm more of a baritone so I can do most of the song but not the ending falsetto convincingly. I agree @Mademoiselle Kitty >^..^<, the few times he's sung low, it's really good, perhaps he might do more of it these days.

To my ears, "I Will " always sounds like a lost Beatles track from their early days. It could have fit quite nicely on the "With the Beatles" album. Perhaps McCartney was giving a little nod to the band's past with this one.
