I have noticed that is sounds like Ringo is using a double bass at several parts in this version. Is he? Or is he playing a different instrument as well that sounds like it would be a Double Bass.

Offline It definately sounds like Ringo is playing a double bass. In particular he plays it at the very beginning and end, plus some parts in the middle. But it certainly sounds like one.
