a-hard-days-night-ringo-8 Along with Dont Pass Me By and Sexy Sadie The Fool On The Hill was edited from 4:20 or something and The End was going to be longer but was slimmed down. There may be others but i cant think of them off the top of my head. Oh a tiny bit of I Am The Walrus was cut out on some of the mixes but is there on others.

Edit: There was also Flying (originally over 9 mins but most of that being loops) and of course Dig It which never ended.

Doctor Robert had an extra 39 seconds

I don’t really think it’s too big of a deal to make little edits, what do you guys think?

I don’t see it as a problem if you’re doing it for yourself, but I wouldn’t do it.

For some folks, editing seems like a fun way to….how shall I say, discover and enjoy the Beatles music in their own or different way.

Technology has allowed people to do things to audio and or video recordings to suit their own pleasure, and that’s all good. That’s what living is all about. Happiness.

I consider myself a purist in that, I prefer to listen to the songs the way they were released to the public by the artist. When the Beatles made a new record. It was like a revelation. You will remember where you were and what you were doing the first time you heard it. There is no topping the original. It’s interesting to note that until the Sergeant Pepper LP. The albums(US) were very different across the Atlantic. Depending on where you were living at the time of their releases, kids heard different versions of the same title.

However we listen to the music, it’s all good.

Sorry about disappearing for days at a time. I have a really bad habit of making posts on the internet and then forgetting about them. blue-meanie

Although I don’t like editing songs (See Oh! Darling on Anthology 3 ) I have to say you’ve done a brilliant job at it. It transitions seamlessly and the edit point is barely noticeable.

Thanks, it’s always nice things like these work out.

Don’t you mind uploading the whole song with edited part? It will be good for car so I don’t have to lower the sound when that part comes up :) .

The song itself is not really the best quality. In fact, I’ll grab the multitack and do it again for a more thorough job.

My current version doesn’t have the really cool “DUNNNNN” piano ending. I’ll have to figure out a way to fix that.

What really drives me nuts were the pointless Anthology edits.  Exactly WHY was it deemed necessary to take out a mere 30 seconds from the otherwise full-length version of “You Know My Name (Look Up the Number)”???  WHO decided that “Not Guilty ” was about a minute too long???  Who is George Martin to say that “12-Bar Original” and Take 2 of “Helter Skelter ” get boring after a while?  a-hard-days-night-paul-3

NO, ME!

Paul: Yeah well… first of all, we’re bringing out a ‘Stamp Out Detroit’ campaign.

Considering this is the same guy who said the White Album should’ve been a single album, I’m not so sure.  Not everyone has ADD these days.  a-hard-days-night-paul-11

Exactly. (And for the record, GM’s harmonium part was the most boring thing about “12-Bar Original” – his weakest keyboard contribution to any Beatles record.)

Paul: Yeah well… first of all, we’re bringing out a ‘Stamp Out Detroit’ campaign.
