That poor teacher in Bad Boy who had tacks put in her chair (hum, teaching is typically seen as a female profession). The bad boy is told to go to a barber shop (implies there is a barber there – probably male?) and get a hair cut.

Circus performers (Mr Kite and The Hendersons) and Britain’s first black circus owner (William Darby aka Pablo Fanques) – in Being For The Benefit Of Mr Kite . Is dancing horse a profession? LOL. Well horse trainer is.

The policeman on the street in Blue Jay Way

The king, queen and duchess all have professions.

Desmond is a barrow man in the markets and Marley is another singer, as is he who grows up and sings ‘Old Brown Shoe ‘ wearing the gold rings.

The tiger hunter that is Bungalow Bill.

Why focus on the gender of a fictional teacher.

See post 1 of the thread. Gender-related conceptions is what kicked off the idea for the thread.

Would monarch and consort be regarded as careers/professions?

Because we have the King and Queen in Cry Baby Cry , and Lillibet in Her Majesty .

Queen, kings, and other royal family members (good ones) definitely count. QEII’s schedule and requirements would flatten me. Parliament may rule the lives of the populace with their laws and guidelines, but Her Majesty rules the hearts of the nation in a way no Tory, Liberal, LibDem, DUP, etc. MP could.

Poor Andrew :'(

The Queen, Charles & Camilla, and Anne are the only ones that work – the rest are the biggest taxpayer leeches.
