I really can't explain why, but this is my favorite song (don't throw tomatoes at me!) of my less favorite Beatle (no insults, you Georgie fansa-hard-days-night-george-4).

But I love Blue Jay Way , and every time I hear it, I can´t help but to start “Bollywood-dancing”…

I found this awesome video of Blue Jay Way , hope you like it!

BTW, I don´t know if it's allowed by the forum rules to insert videos… more often than once in a while…, so I just put the link.

Have a beautiful daY!

Definitely one of my favorites, it really grows on you after a while, sort of like I Am The Walrus . 'There's a fog upon L A-aaaa, and my friends have lost their waa-aaay, we'll be over soon they saa-aaaid, now they've lost themselves instee-eead.' Such an awesome opening verse.

Just one small favor – please expalin “Bollywood-dancing”.  a-hard-days-night-ringo-8

I quite like “Blue Jay Way ” a lot myself, too, even though the coda goes on a bit long. Somebody somewhere mentioned how the cellos and the phasing really help to evoke that fog upon L.A., and they're OTM. George was really into those droning organ songs in '67-68, wasn't he?

Paul: Yeah well… first of all, we’re bringing out a ‘Stamp Out Detroit’ campaign.

Hi, Zig. I found this to explain “Bollywood dance”

Bollywood dance is the dance-form used in

the Indian films.  It is a mixture of numerous styles.  These styles include

belly-dancing, Indian folk Western popular, and “modern”, jazz, and even Western

erotic dancing. n the strict sense the term “Bollywood” refers to the Hindi

culture, art, and film industry from Bombay.  The other film centres of South

Asia are often referred to by their own designations (e.g., Lollywood (Lahore),

Tollywood (Andhra Pradesh)).  However since the Bombay Hindi film industry

dwarfs the other productions centres, the term “Bollywood” is generally extended

to mean the entire South Asian film culture.

The international appeal of Bollywood dancing is something that has been many

decades in the making.  Originally it was found only in places that had a

significant consumption of Indian films (i.e., Former Soviet Union, and the

Middle East).  But a few years ago it started to become chic in Europe,

and today it is rising in popularity in the US, and Canada.  Today,  dance schools that teach this style may be

found in most major cities.

Here you can see some videos:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v…..re=channel

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v…..eature=fvw

(Not that I can dance like that at all.. I just move my arms and head,  half-hawaian, half taichi) a-hard-days-night-paul-11

Blue Jay Way is definately one of my favourites, partly because it's so weird, also he has enough parts to keep you interested a hundred years later.a-hard-days-night-john-2 The organ mixed with the cello, plus the effects does give a very foggy atmosphere. Also I'd say this is one of Ringo's best performances. You can tell the beatles had a very large range of genres, I don't really know what this would fit into.

The song is trippy. VERY trippy, but not that it's a bad thing. The slowness in George's singing is…….cool?

I actually thought the song was about LSD when I first heard it, but then learned that it was about a street in LA.

I hope it's still there! Someday I'll live there a-hard-days-night-john-1

I don't know if any of you remember it, but someone posted a video on here that was called “If the Beatles were Irish” (or something like that) where this guy sang a bunch of Beatles songs, but in an Irish way! He sneaks “Blue Jay Way ” in there somewhere, and since I watched that video, I can't read the lyrics without hearing his version in my mind. a-hard-days-night-george-3

I'm in love, but I'm lazy.

It is still there. Go to this site's “Map” section. When the map opens, there is a Google site on the map itself. Type in Blue Jay Way and off you go…

I’m not sure how good the map search is You need to search for more than [Blue Jay Way ] – [Blue Jay Way los angeles] will get you there. However, I’ve added the house that George stayed in to the song page (scroll down here).

Here’s a very good site: http://www.electricearl.com/BlueJay.html – it doesn’t mention the actual address, but I worked it out from the more recent photos.

This is reason # 1,000,002 why I love this site. Someone asks a question and the answer is provided post haste. Let me try it…

Does anyone know which Lottery numbers will pop up tomorrow night?

Sure. 1, 3, 15, 21, 29 and 38. Unfortunately I don't know which lottery they're for. If you win, though, spare me a tenner.

Zig, just find out what numbers won last week, and play 'em again this week!  (The odds of a previous winning combination winning again are equal to that of any other combination winning, don't you know.)

GEORGE: In fact, The Detroit Sound. JOHN: In fact, yes. GEORGE: In fact, yeah. Tamla-Motown artists are our favorites. The Miracles. JOHN: We like Marvin Gaye. GEORGE: The Impressions PAUL & GEORGE: Mary Wells. GEORGE: The Exciters. RINGO: Chuck Jackson. JOHN: To name but eighty.

Tenner, shmenner.

If I win (current jackpot is 20 million), I'm flying all of my Forum buddies to England to meet you in person for a huge party.

So, how many spare bedrooms do you have Joe? Is Ellie a good cook? Ah – no matter – we'll take over a local Inn and hire a chef.

We've got one spare bedroom and a very cramped study, full of Beatles books! I can recommend a lovely pub though. And Ellie is a fabulous cook.
