OK – which Beatle said this in reference to the soon to be released Sgt Pepper album:

“We used the Monkees on a few tracks.”

This isn't a trivia question, but Robert, do you know which tracks the mystery Beatle is speaking of? I know I saw Mike Nesmith on the video for A Day in A Life, but what else was he in? All You Need Is Love ?

Or is John using the Monkees metaphorically? (The Monkees, incidentally, used The Beatles once when they used Good Morning Good Morning as their alarm clock in one episode.)

None of the Attendees at the Feb. 10 session of ADITL played on the track. They were simply guests.

yea – it was a joke – Paul went on to say that “Yeah right, but they wouldn't go along with the TV series we had planned for them.” – it was just a joke – none of the Monkees was on a Sgt. Pepper 's track although Mike Nesmith was at the orchestra recording for ADITL and Mickey Dolenz did hang with the Beatles at least once.

And you're right it's not really a trivia question.

No, I mean MY question wasn't a trivia question. I just wanted to know. 🙂 I don't want you to think I'm disapraging your efforts!

Sorry to derail, just wanted to point out that Starwisher was listening to the world's second-best album called Let It Be ! (I was a big Replacements fan in college)

GEORGE: In fact, The Detroit Sound. JOHN: In fact, yes. GEORGE: In fact, yeah. Tamla-Motown artists are our favorites. The Miracles. JOHN: We like Marvin Gaye. GEORGE: The Impressions PAUL & GEORGE: Mary Wells. GEORGE: The Exciters. RINGO: Chuck Jackson. JOHN: To name but eighty.

You mean “D’you want us to do it again George? With ciggie in mouth”? I didn’t know that was a parody of anyone.

“Would the people in the cheaper seats please clap your hands. Everyone else, just rattle your (f***ing) jewelry.”

Sorry I don't have it word-for-word. I'm doing this off the top of my head.

If I seem to act unkind, it's only me, it's not my mind that is confusing things.

Joe, that’s the quote. He was parodying (Perhaps unintentionally) Dean Martin, From his amazing song That’s Amore.
