There is this one Christmas song I heard that reminded me so much of Oh! Darling . But I sadly don't know the name. It was some guy singing about how he wanted his girl to be home for Christmas.

Offline I think it's a modern song, but not one that Bon Jovi wrote. Wikipedia says it was recorded in 1960 by a blues artist named Charles Brown. Actually, if you look it up, you'll see a number of people have covered it. I'm sure you'll find one you like. 🙂

Definitely. They are very similar arpeggio chord patterns
On 1, I think the songs from From Me To You to Eight Days A Week sound fairly similar.
It's Only Love and I Need You sound similar to me.
Also, in You Never Give Me Your Money , McCartney's vocal on “out of college, money spent” reminds me of Lady Madonna .

Offline This monday I was on the bus, listening to (John's) “Rock'n'Roll” album again, trying to forget I must go to work, and I remember that the motive of “Come Together ” is very similar to the first verses of “you can't catch me”.

Offline Personally I sometimes get confused with which song's which on Rubber Soul . Think For Yourself , The Word , Wait … They all sort of blend for me.
I don't know, that was the first thing that came to mind anyway.

Offline I always felt that the guitar in 'Twisted Logic' by Coldplay sounded very similar to 'I Want You (She's so Heavy'
And the piano at the beginning of Oasis's 'Don't Look Back in Anger' is close to 'Imagine '. Too close for comfort, if you ask me.
Plus there's one bit towards the end of 'All You Need Is Love ' that sounds a lot like 'She Loves You '…

Yeah, I've heard people complain about that on occasion. It wouldn't be nearly so apparent if the songs weren't consecutive.
Similarly, if “Because ” and “She's So Heavy” appeared back-to-back on Abbey Road , more people would notice how they begin with an identical 8-note sequence (and probably complain about it.)

Hello Goodbye , Rocky Raccoon and Your Mother Should Know all feature the same chord progression of 'C, C/B, A(m)(7)' at some point in those songs, it's become a bit of a McCartney signature. Anyone know any other Beatles/Macca songs with this chord sequence?
You all will have read that Dave Dee is no longer with us. But Mickey and Titch and I would like to carry on the good work that's always gone down in number two.

that progression (in various keys) – is used in millions of pop songs.
Although, yes, Paul seemed very fond of it – it's older than he is – it's older than dirt. I believe God was whistling that progression when he hung the stars.
