@Ahhh Girl Was just going to mention Footprints (“He won’t sit by my fire, he says he likes it in the snow.
Where footprints never go, he likes it in the snow”) – one of my favorite obscure McCartney songs.
The word “obscure” may sometimes be somewhat over-used, but I do think this one’s obscure – mainly because it comes off a relative weak album (Press To Play )

I love that song, one of George’s best.

50yearslate, BeatlebugI've been up on the mountain, and I've seen his wondrous grace,
I've sat there on the barstool and I've looked him in the face.
He seemed a little haggard, but it did not slow him down,
he was humming to the neon of the universal sound.

Sublime in the summertime, warm and lazy
from Your Love Is Forever
That counts, right?
It’s a particularly appealing lyric to me today as it’s been cold and rainy all day.

‘Soft-Hearted Hana’
My legs seemed to me like high-rise buildings
My head was high up in the sky
My skin the sun began to fry like bacon…She lives beneath the crater in the meadow
She moves among the fruit and grain
You can meet her after heavy rain has fallen
A quite stupendous song that is utterly and beyond bonkers and is totally explained by the words “magic mushrooms”.
Off-topic question. Do any other Beatles mention bacon or is it just George (‘Piggies ‘ and ‘Soft-Hearted Hana’)?

Bowie’s cover
is very faithful to the original — especially by Bowie’s standards, he usually kooks things up a bit (which is sometimes good, sometimes bad, but we Bowie-sluts would listen to him sing a Taco Bell menu so we don’t care )
