So Ringo is punishing entire state of North Carolina over a sociopolitical issue he disagrees with? What about all the South Carolinians who agree with him on the LGBT issue? It’s likely that a Ringo concert would attract most of them anyway; now they can’t see him or have to travel to another state to do so.Yes.

I was planning on seeing him…

Can’t you see him somewhere else? North Carolina is kind of a boring state anyways. You should see him somewhere fun like Washington DC or San Diego.

Probably, if it’s not too far away.

North Carolina is a fabulous state. And I’m not just saying that.
You should see him somewhere fun like Washington DC or San Diego.
Yeah, I’m stayin’ a bit more local than across-the-country, thanks

NC can’t be any boringer than any other state.
With the obvious exception of Illinois. We have a silent letter in our name, Abe Lincoln in on our license plates, and our state food is POPCORN! I don’t think it can get much more exciting than that. North Carolina’s state vegetable is the sweet potato, and that’s kind of exciting, but popcorn beats the sweet potato by a little.

It’s more exiting than Wyoming but less so then Mi or Ma or NY or Ca or SC or VA or VT or QC or BM or QC or WOLD.

WOLD isn’t a state. Webster defines it as a “uncultivated moor”.
You say something about WOLD not being a state but you said nothing about QC and BM not being states? Why?
Also, don’t call her “Webster.” Her name is Merriam.

Because I didn’t feel like it.
Webster’s first name is Noah, I have no clue who Merriam is.

Apparently! And for someone who’s 5’1 (almost 5’2) I still wouldn’t be able to see standing on my tippy toes!

I feel your pain! We’re about the same height (I’m 1.60m, or nearly 5’3″) and I, too, am always looking at people’s backs. Somehow’s it’s always the 6’+ people that end up right in front of me.

You do realise how easy the people in the US have it when it comes to concerts, right? I mean, this upcoming European leg of Paul’s tour only has 10 dates: 3 in Germany, 1 in France, 1 in Spain, 1 in Norway, 1 in Denmark, 1 in Czech, 1 in Belgium, and 1 in the Netherlands. I’ll be attending the last one, but it’s the shortest show he’s done in years (90 minutes) and I will be traveling 6 to 8 hours just to get there and home again, assuming I won’t end up stranded somewhere. But, at least I have a chance to see him. The bulk of the tour dates are in the US. And that’s Paul. Ringo rarely even leaves the US anymore! There certainly don’t seem to be any plans for a tour of Europe. And how do you think the Australians feel?
Travelling to a different state seems a first world problem to me, but then that’s just me.

5’4″ here, I always seem to get stuck behind tall people at concerts. Or maybe just people with really big hair and/or heads. All these people talking about how “slight” all four of them are, are amusing. Paul, John and George all tower above me. Even Ringo is taller if only by a couple inches.

I’m Ringo’s height. (Dhani Harrison is Ringo’s height too…)
I always thought they were rather middling height, not basketball players but not short either.

Its not about punishing the fans, its about sending a message to those in charge and high up who make the decisions where it hits and hurts them most, in the pocket as well as their reputations. The lost revenue from musicians and businesses pulling out of events, contracts, investments etc will be far more reaching and hard hitting than Ringo (and others) making statements against or people holding public demonstrations.

Ahh, I thought Dhani would have been a little taller ^^ He’s also the same age as me.
I figure for dudes, they are about average or slightly above (a little bit below 6′). Then again, as a not-dude, anyone above 5’7″-8″ is tallish to me. =D

Dhani is the same age as me too 1978 was a good year
I don’t know why people call the Beatles slight; 5’10”-5’11” isn’t short at all. I don’t get why people would think it is.
I mean, I live in the Netherlands. We’re the tallest people in the world (hey, exceptions confirm the rule) and even here, the average height for a man is only 6’1″. The brits are a bit shorter; 5’9″ on average, and you have to take into account that people get taller now than they did 50 years ago. In the 1950’s, the average height for Britons was 5’7″. Therefore, the Beatles were not short. Even has a normal height. He just looked short because
and
were taller than average.
