I should post pictures of my tickets! Because why not?If you do, just hide the barcode (not that anyone here would take advantage, but it’s a publicly searchable forum and you don’t want to take chances).

I won’t then, mine look like DrBeatle’s only with seats farther back… No need to post, just too excited.

Pressed the wrong button and thanked instead of quoted. But no harm.
If you can go because a) its Ringo b) its a Beatles c) you’ll enjoy it d) you’ll regret it if you dont and e) well i dont have an e so here is a elephant instead
I wasnt a huge fan of the rest of the band, they kind of sucked as i am not a fan of the songs they played (i hate with much levels of detestment Kayleigh or whatever its called), but Ringo is cool and to be in the same room as a Beatle makes it worthwhile. Yeah i have grumbles but i always have grumblems and it was a damn Beatle. He could have taken his shows and socks off, sat in a seat with his back to us for the evening saying and doing nothing just letting the rest of the band play drivel and still my over-riding thought would have been
“ITS A FRIGGIN’ BEATLE!! A FRIGGIN BEATLE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!”
Everyone who is going to see him i know you are going to enjoy it so much.

After asking the question I went for a contemplative stroll through the woods to decide if I should see Ringo or not. While I was meandering around, I spotted a tree with white leaves! When I approached I saw that it had two green eyes and a mouth! I asked the tree “Hey should I go the the Ringo concert in June?”
The tree gave me a thoughtful look and lowered one of its branches and said “Yes you should here are two tickets to the Ringo concert on June 27.”
I then thanked the tree and went on my merry way with a spring in my step.
I took a picture of the magic tree

@Starr Shine? that tree will be in my nightmares, but if it gave you tickets then good! Now just to clarify the tickets aren’t imaginary like the tree right?
@meanmistermustard I was kind of disappointed at first that it was so much of the bands songs, but thats how I feel… I’ll be under the same roof as Ringo, occupying the same physical space, breathing the same air! Maybe he’ll even glance in my general direction!!!

Ringo is playing a small ampitheatre here (4200 seats I think, plus lawn behind). I waited for 2 hours in line at the ticket office, because they weren’t sold through ticketmaster, I thought the box office would be good. As it turned out, I was like 12th in line, but it took so long to get to the counter that I should have (and I did think about it) used my phone to get tickets on their site. I got the 4 absolute worst seats in the house – last row, far left corner. But they’re seats!
As far as price, I think they were about 65 for lawn, all the seats were 90 (usd). An incredible bargain! Like someone else here, I too will be seeing Ringo within a year of seeing Paul. And to think early last spring I had no idea of the wonders that were to come
To go off topic again, I was able to go to 9 concerts last year: Paul, Jimmy Buffet (a disappointment coming 2 days after Paul, and it was a strict album promotion tour – he played 4 songs I was familiar with, and 2 were covers), Heart (they rocked hard), Steely Dan (I’d been wanting to see them for 30 years!), Brian Wilson, Buddy Guy, B.B. King – a serious disappointment, the one near me was called “Frampton’s guitar Circus” – there were 3 mediocre guitar players, then B.B. came out, invited one of the other guitarists to sit by him, and proceeded to flirt with the women in the front couple of rows for half an hour – I should have driven the extra hour and seen him in Toledo, where I saw Buddy Guy – it was a zoo pool ampitheatre! 500 seats at most, and some bleachers. Even worse, his mouth was so close to the mike that (in the 4th row) I could understand none of it. He played 2 notes of Lucille , and I think that was it. Then, Peter Frampton finished the show, and he was great. His voice is just so pleasing, and he always wears a big smile (if you noticed him on the Ed Sullivan Anniversary Show, he was the one with the red guitar and the big smile, off to the left). Anyway, the other two were Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers (2nd time for them, the 2006 show is in my top 5 concerts), and um, damn, I don’t have the ticket stub…Hopefully I’ll think of it as soon as I submit this

Venues used to reserve great seats if you bought directly from them, but I discovered the hard way about a decade ago that most venues stopped that practice, and they’re pulling from the same batch of seats at the same time as everyone else. So you might as well stay at home and wait in the virtual queue. At least you can do that in your pjs.

and have a cup of tea that doesnt set you back $5 and remind you of lingering cat pee.
Glad you got tickets Matt; as you say at least you got a ticket or four (and if you spot an empty seat a good bit into the show you can always nab it).

tg the tickets were not available through eventbrite, not ticketbastard, or it would have sold out in 2 minutes. And, who am I to complain, the last row is like the 40th row. Not all that far away from the stage. And it was the first time in my life (sheesh, at 51!) that I’ve stood in line at a ticketoffice.
@meanmistermustard – I’ll be there with my mother and uncle, so while they would certainly understand, I doubt I’ll leave them for an empty seat closer. Unfortunately, my son’s passion has moved to folk and especially banjo, which he’s learning, so we won’t have 3 generations there. He will live to regret not seeing a former Beatle someday, methinks!

Ringo has announced more concerts in the Midwest and South, starting in October, according to USA Today. Also, there are announcements of a few other events:
On June 19, a collection of Starr’s self-portraits will be unveiled at a VIP reception and exhibition at the Soho Contemporary Art Gallery in New York. Starr’s art also is on display at the Hard Rock Cafe in Chicago and Ocean Gallery in Stone Harbor , N.J., as well as online at RingoStarrArt.com.ssonette.
On July 7, Starr will celebrate his 74th birthday in Los Angeles. As in past years, he encourages fans around the world to pause at noon local time to share a “peace and love” moment. He’s inviting L.A. fans to gather with him at noon PT in front of theCapitol Records building.
Ringo Starr : A Lifetime of Peace and Love, a tribute concert honoring the drummer, will premiere at 8 p.m. ET July 13 on AXS TV. The special showcases performances by Joe Walsh, Ben Harper, Ben Folds, Brendan Benson, Bettye LaVette and others, plus a band featuring Don Was, Benmont Tench, Peter Frampton, Steve Lukather and Kenny Aronoff. The concert, taped in January in Los Angeles, launched theRingo Starr Peace & Love Fund , a division of the David Lynch Foundation, which provides Transcendental Meditation instruction to tens of thousands of at-risk students in underserved schools, women who are survivors of domestic violence, and veterans with post-traumatic stress.

I got tickets to see him in Chicago and I am really excited about this. To be honest, I’m way more excited about seeing him and watching him dance than I am about the music.
