Ringo aside, Todd Rundgren was probably the star of the show. He was hilarious, dancing around, making faces, and he sang, played guitar, bass, harmonica, piano, and percussion during different points in the show.
Yeah Todd was incredible when I saw them in Melbourne Feb 2013. Running around singing his head off, he was great. Steve Lukather did his Toto bit and I’m ashamed to say I sang along to Africa To be honest, I was very shy and didn’t rush up to the stage like my Beatlemaniac friend during Photograph. I was really impressed with the band too. The bassplayer was Richard Page and god what a voice he has. They got Pat Mastelotto to drum with Ringo on With A Little Help From My Friends (he pointed at ME squealed my friend), and there were a few local big names banging tambourines etc.
I remember Ringo making jokes about his albums not selling “but I’m sure you all have them right *wink* *wink*” and he made a little peace and love speech at the end which got everyone a bit soggy and we all sang Give Peace A Chance . So it’s nice to see that he largely kept the same band for you Mr Kite because they were really good.
I'm like Necko only I'm a bassist ukulele guitar synthesizer kazoo penguin and also everyone. Or is everyone me? Now I'm a confused bassist ukulele guitar synthesizer kazoo penguin everyone who is definitely not @Joe. This has been true for 2016 & 2017 but I may have to get more specific in the future.
