Never Without You – a heartfelt Ringo song written as a tribute to George Harrison , and featuring slide guitar played by Eric Clapton:
‘Here Comes The Sun ‘ is about you
I know ‘All Things Must Pass ‘
‘I Dig Love ‘ is about you
And in the end
The love you take is equal to the love you make

This is tiny, but it caught my ear as I was listening to this song just now. “Here today” is a phrase in the song. It got me to thinking about Paul song to John titled “Here Today .”
So I looked up what Joe wrote about the song: “‘Never Without You’ was originally a tribute to John Lennon and Harry Nilsson, but was rewritten by Starr following the death of George Harrison .”
I wonder if the specific use of the phrase “here today” was a nod to Paul’s song about John.
