HA! It doesn’t.

Hopefully @Expert Textpert will tell you all what my GPS sounds like. His wife was really good at imitating it.

I would repeat what we were making it say, but I don’t want to offend anyone.

Wow! You naughty boy @Expert Textpert! Ahhh Girl is doing a number on you!

By hook or by crook, I'll be last in this book.

Somehow, I never made the connection between the title, the lyrics, and the other Beatles in this song, but I really like it. I’m glad it’s a bonus track on the remastered Ringo.

If you're lonely (or not!), you can talk to me. .....Hey! Are you a new member on this fine forum and don't know where to go to introduce yourself?
Well, you can do it here! Dig it?

And speaking of Ringo’s instrumental abilities, this is impressive:

Ringo Starr – vocals, drums, acoustic guitar, dobro, standup bass, piano, backing vocals
George Harrison – electric guitars, slide guitar, piano
Klaus Voormann – bass
uncredited – piano

Five different instruments he plays in one song! Even hauls out a standup bass and plays eight shaky notes just to demonstrate his inability – and by extension, his need for musical collaborators. Great, great record.

Naughty bump here, but until we have a thread for the song itself, does anyone have any idea who played the uncredited piano? Must have been an overdub to not be credited at the time, and one would logically think it was Nicky Hopkins but could it have been someone else? Remind me when the song thread turns up so I can claim its actually Elton John brian-epstein

A perfectly possible candidate who needs to be considered is Leon Russell, @ewe2. George was getting to know him around this time via Delaney & Bonnie and Friends. Russell played guitar and keyboards for them.

I wouldn’t be surprised if @Joe didn’t consider making this the song thread.

Oohh that’s a good call @Ron Nasty, that also suits Leon Russell’s piano style too! I suspect there was always some stylistic crossover with Sir Elt, they’ve both got their favourite piano licks which are similar.

I just heard Early 1970 for the first time and it brought a tear to my eye, especially when I went back to the start and realised the uncertainty in the verse about Paul. a-hard-days-night-ringo-6

Then I read in the Wikipedia article that this is the song that Klein tried to entrap  Paul with! What a snake.

Poor Richy. I’m so glad he was able to navigate the bickering between the others and play with all of them. It’s so sad that he didn’t get his wish from the end of the song though a-hard-days-night-ringo-14

My hot take is that after the Beatles split they went down the paths of spiritualism, solipsism, alcoholism, and Paul McCartney

He may or may not have, depending: As I noted upthread, the “all three” as phrased could equally be referring to a guitar, a bass, and a piano 🙂

One day, a tape-op got a tape on backwards, he went to play it, and it was all "Neeeradno-undowarrroom" and it was "Wow! Sounds Indian!"
