If you haven’t heard this 1999 Ringo album, you’re missing out. It’s one of his best. The cover of “Christmas Time (Is Here Again)” is better than the original.

Where did you even buy it? Most of his albums are super expensive on amazon and I think this is one of them, and I don’t know of many stores that carry old Ringo albums.

I think I got it at half.com. Try eBay and Amazon as well. I’ve found all but five of his studio albums at decent prices on CD. The five from Ringo the 4th through Old Wave are are all super expensive and I don’t have them.

I got it as part of a Beatles and solo Christmas bootleg collection (4 or 5 cds worth), didnt know it existed before then. Didnt get around to hear it last Christmas so it will be uploaded to my iPod at some point.

I'm like Necko only I'm a bassist ukulele guitar synthesizer kazoo penguin and also everyone. Or is everyone me? Now I'm a confused bassist ukulele guitar synthesizer kazoo penguin everyone who is definitely not @Joe.  This has been true for 2016 & 2017 Sig-Badge.png but I may have to get more specific in the future.

I’ll have to look up the album later, it seems like it would be a great album. Also, I don’t have much Ringo solo stuff, so I’ll start here, I guessa-hard-days-night-ringo-10

What a rockin’ album.

I’ll never think of The Little Drummer Boy again in the same way.

I heart Ringo.

I just got this album in the mail today, and I’m listening to it for the first time right now.

It’s two of my favorite things put together – Christmas music and Richy, so I’m so happy listening to it I could probably cry.

Some of the songs sound kind of tropical – I think this would even be worth a listen in the summertime, and I wouldn’t say that about all Christmas albums.

Got into the album a little bit the other day. I’m really enjoying “I Wanna Be Santa Claus” and “Christmas Time (Is Here Again)”.

I got this album on vinyl for Christmas! beatlemaniacs_02_gif

It’s perfect to celebrate both Christmas and Ringo probably getting knighted. And it’s already my fourth Solo Beatle vinyl. a-hard-days-night-george-9

I love how White Christmas suddenly becomes a surf song – well, it’s probably very fitting for everyone on the southern hemisphere. a-hard-days-night-george-10

Not once does the diversity seem forced -- the genius of the record is how the vaudevillian "When I'm 64" seems like a logical extension of "Within You Without You" and how it provides a gateway to the chiming guitars of "Lovely Rita. - Stephen T. Erlewine on Sgt Pepper's

Ringo’s version of “Wonderland” is ingeniously easygoing.

This album is fantabulous! Ringo’s version of “White Christmas” (no doubt others, like Mark Hudson, contributed to the magic) is devilishly brilliant — reggae style, with marimbas, steel drums, and drums made to sound like they’re splashing water, and many other toys.  I agree that this version of “Christmas Time Is Here Again ” is superb. And of course, “The Little Drummer Boy” — it’s like it was written for Ringo! His drumming, incidentally, on all the songs is top-notch.

The production value and arranging & engineering is as crisp, slick and refreshing as an Uncola & Rum.  Listening to the songs, I’m reminded (why did I forget?) that Ringo’s voice is immensely pleasing, and he has a nice baritone when he wants to. The last song, “Pax Um Biscum” has an east Indian feel, and among the chorus of singers it sounds like George is there, but the credits only list the following:

Backing VocalsBill Hudson (2), Brett Hudson (2), Dick Monda, Gary Burr, John Titta, Kiley Oliver, Marc Fantini (2), Sarah Hudson, Steffan Fantini, Tess Whiteheart, Timothy B. Schmit, Teisha Helgerson*

I agree, it’s an excellent album. One of my favorite solo Beatles albums.
