When did Ringo start making his sound like a robot? I thought it was in Y Not, but now listening to Liverpool 8, I hear some faint robotness in is voice.

Offline From what I’ve seen, Paul only uses AutoTune on his official recordings of live performances, I’ve never heard an example on a studio recording.
Whereas Ringo uses it on everything, even on contributions to other people’s songs.

He didn’t used to use it as much as he does now. While going through my Ringo matathon this last week, I noticed that Ringo 2012, had Postcards From Paradise are pure auto tune on his vocals.

Offline I think Robo Ringo begins in Y Not. I don’t hear a whole lot of autotune usage in Liverpool 8.
As for the Robo Ringo voice, I quite like it on Y Not, and it’s okay on Ringo 2012, but on Postcards From
Paradise, it gets a little bit annoying at times.

Offline I know I’ve said in the past that Ringo sucks at singing, but that’s when comparing him to the other 3 Beatles, who are among the greatest singers of all time, I like his vocal performance on Yellow Submarine and his voice isn’t so bollocks that he needs autotune. Actually, I can think of at least 10 worse singers, try to name them:

Especially that #2, just thinking about his singing voice makes me want to listen to Yellow Submarine in an infinite loop.

Offline Although, my guess is that his voice has taken a bit of a dive in his older(or younger, depending on if you believe in the immortal Ringo) days, similar to Paul.
