#2: Taxman (Oh! the WIT and IRONY…) Eleanor Rigby (A longtime favourite of mine– the scoring scintillates) I’m Only Sleeping (Do you have any idea how much I empathise with John here?) She Said She Said (OH THAT DRUMMIN’) Good Day Sunshine (Just a good, happy, sunny song) And Your Bird Can Sing (The guitar is just pure seething frustration at you not getting me, AND technically mindblowing) For No One (Beautiful, great chords, and French horn) I Want To Tell You (I will not hear one negative word about this song. The discord– the vocals– it’s fab. Shut up.) Got To Get You Into My Life (It makes me jump up and down, SOO fun to sing)

Offline It changes a lot but at the moment it’s ‘She Said She Said ‘. Which is just a perfect lennon track really,his vocal performance plus the sound of the electric guitar lines are fantastic and starr’s scattered fills hold the whole thing together perfectly. It’s probably the bands best album though – hard to pick one.

Offline I would say For No One , but I just feel it’s a little too short. Great song though. I would have to go with Tomorrow Never Knows as the best. Probably the most mind blowing song the Beatles ever made in my opinion.

Offline It’s gotta be Tomorrow Never Knows . There are so many excellent songs on the album but that one really stands above everything else. When I get to side 2 of Revolver I’m just waiting for this song. It’s such a killer track. John was really at his peak from 65-66. All of his material from that period is top notch.

I can’t pick a favorite song because there are favorite things about each song that I love:
The “One, two, three, four *cough* one, two…” count in at the beginning of “Taxman “.
The gorgeous “Eleanor Rigby “. All of it.
The yawning guitar on “I’m Only Sleeping “.
The exotic sound of the Indian instruments on “Love You To “.
The lovely harmonies on “Here There And Everywhere “.
The joyous, buoyant chorus of “Yellow Submarine “.
The drum patterns Ringo comes out with on “She Said She Said “. In my humble, his best playing along with “Rain ” and “The End “.
The happiness of “Good Day Sunshine “. Childhood memories tied with this one of dancing around the living room with my mom.
The guitar solo on “And Your Bird Can Sing “. George!
The French Horn solo in “For No One “. And Paul’s delivery of the vocal.
The floating blissfulness of “…well, well, well you’re feeling fine…” on “Doctor Robert “.
The piano, also the chord at the end of each line in “I Want To Tell You “… one of my favorite George tracks.
The brassy opening to “Got To Get You Into My Life “.
The sheer trippiness of “Tomorrow Never Knows “.

“She Said She Said ” is my favorite from this album. It’s so trippy and melancholic all while Ringo drums sound better than any song on the album. Then, followed by “Here, There, and Everywhere” for it’s sweet and meaningful melody.
But there’s no denying the catchy guitar riffs in “And Your Bird Can Sing “, George’s first ventures with the Indian Sound/Sitar, the backwards guitar solo amongst the dreamy, floaty “I’m Only Sleeping ” are all bright bits in this stellar album.

George’s first recorded venture into proper Indian-style composition, yes, but not his first recorded venture with the sitar. He played it on Norwegian Wood .
