This got out of hand and turned into a mini documentary.  Thanks for the help from this forum.

How do you embed vids on here?  I’m using the iPhone/chrome.

Nice video except for one problem, if you’re going to recreate Day Tripper to a tee, you need to use the same guitar models John and George used on the song, as well as the same bass model Paul used. One things for sure, Paul didn’t get his Fender until 1968 and it was a Jazz Bass, not a Musicmaster bass, same with John, he never used a Fender Musicmaster, although there is a picture of him using a Fender Jazzmaster that was just laying around.

The guitars they most likely used was John’s Rickenbacker, George’s Strat or Gretsch, and Paul’s Rickenbacker.

If you're reading this, you are looking for something to do.

That is an interisting picture.

Also I would remove the word ‘watch’ from the title.

Thanks for the feedback.  That is a huge ask.  Who has all that at their disposal?  It’s probably a 100 thousands bucks worth of gear.

Maybe if you got in contact with one of your father’s old bandmates, that would help, I mean didn’t you say your father was the drummer for Badfinger, the same people who made the 1970 classic No Matter What. If you truly are the son of Mike Gibbins, it shouldn’t be that hard to get in contact with them and have them lend you their instruments.

I explain myself in the vid. I know it’s long but it’s all in there.  I cover what you suggested re asking Pete, Tommy etc to ship priceless guitars to me around 31:10 mins if you want to skip.

I’ll be uploading a shorter version of just the music and word it different.  This snowballed from a simple vid to a mini documentary.  Haha.  So I want people to watch as much as listen.

On the shorter song I may attempt vocals.

My wife sings like a cross between Wings era Linda on a hot/live mic and Yoko.  So enchanting.  Like a dolphin. So perhaps I’ll bring my spouse into the studio to get that late Beatles vibe.

Thanks zig.

It was a bigger process than I expected.  The JHS COLOUR box was great.  It’s also good to use as a mic pre too.

This is the demo thatbopened my eyes to it.

It gets savaged in the likes dept in the first vid below.  But it sounds almost spot on.  If you listen to the TV performance of Revolution it sounds identical.  Even the glitches:

And they did the groundwork:

So great.  I love it.  They now do these in 500 series racks.  It tempted to sell some gear and get their pre’s and compressors etc.

I find this stuff fascinating and I’m not a musician! Thanks for sharing the info.
