I got the normal version of that book. I have been reading the other threads to see what all is added to the ULTAMENT edition, but I still just have the normal one to read and learn from.

Go ahead. My recommendations for sources are Paul McCartney (Various (Many Years From Now)), Geoff Emmerick (Here, There, And Everywhere), Walter Everett (The Beatles As Musicians), Bruce Spizer (Various (Beatles For Sale On Parlophone Records)), Walter Everett (The Beatles Recording Sessions), David Rybaczewski (http://www.beatlesebooks.com/), Andy Babuik (The Beatles Gear), Rob Taylor (Beatles To A Tee). If you find anything else, please tell me and I will either change the list or give an explanation why. Also, if you could give me any more info about Rob Taylor, that would be great too.

I have all but one of the Bruce Spizer books, and the Beatles gear book from your list.  I have been reading random articles from around the web and places trying to weed out the crap info from people who think they know things.  I don’t mind having a few guesses in there because of lost info, but not most of it.

Type in the beatles gear pdf on your computer, you’re bound to find something, though you might have to pay for it. If you prefer to have a hard copy, go to your local Guitar Center and find one. Also, What Bruce Spizer book are you missing. As for random articles from around the web, most of them are inaccurate. For example, about.com’s articles about The Beatles are very inaccurate and a lot of information contradicts each other, so The Beatles themselves are your best bet unless their ideas are far fetched. For example, George said that he and John played lead on And Your Bird Can Sing , however, John is not talented enough as a lead guitarist to play that lead. Another way to tell is by their playing styles. John is very choppy and shows influence from Chuck Berry, George is fluid and shows influence from Scotty Moore in the early years and Eric Clapton in the later years. Paul is very sporadic and out there, at first his solos are very blues influenced, but later they seem more influenced by Jimi Hendrix. Also, they let Paul do more solos as they went on (Sgt. Pepper actually has more solos by Paul than George at an astounding ratio of 4:1).

Also, for most of these, I’m not guessing, I’m using sources. I only put down sources when I feel necessary, though I might list more sources as time goes on, these are all sourced (mostly by http://www.beatlesebooks.com/, a very accurate site that only uses legitimate sources except when it has to guess (I’ve checked parts of his site compared to stuff from books such as The Beatles Gear or The Beatles Recording Sessions), though occasionally, it makes a mistake, but for a one man group, it’s very impressive).

Shouldn’t need it, everything released by Vee-Jay (and Swan and Capitol for that matter) was released by Parlophone and is on that record. Actually, what’s funny is that my mother had almost all of their albums when they first came out, including the Christmas ones and a 2nd state butcher cover, but she didn’t have anything from Vee-Jay except for the Please Please Me /From Me To You single and I don’t consider Introducing The Beatles part of the US catalogue, as I don’t remember it and I didn’t own a copy until my older brother found some old lady giving stuff away, including her old records, which included Introducing The Beatles, Beatlemania With The Beatles , Twist And Shout (Canadian LP), Long Tall Sally (Canadian LP), and some Canadian singles, in addition to stuff we already had. She said she was from Vancouver and was big into The Beatles in the 60’s and that we could all have it for free because she didn’t need it anymore. Man, even though they were all in mono, it still was a great deal and added some variety to our wall.

Agreed, the Vee-Jay book will do very little for this list and this kind of research.

@Reklo87 Are you sure you haven’t found a single thing that’s worth mentioning because I don’t want this page to die out so quickly.

I can gather up the info I have for the Revolver sessions. I will type in up tonight or in the next day or so.
