According to this report the vocals are genuinely Paul, extracted from an audience bootleg tape of a Brian Wilson concert where he appeared as a guest, isolated, cleaned up significantly and dropped over the record after the original vocals had been removed. If it can do this that shows the potential of AI and what could happen with The Star Club tapes, the Stowe concert, Granada TV’s ‘Some Other Guy’ performance, and the early BBC session stuff that only exists as poor off-air recordings.

Turns out, getting AI to rewrite “Hey Jude ” was more of a challenge than we expected.
The first time the technology tried generating a re-written version, it took out the name “Jude” and kept the lyrics exactly the same: Hey [name] don’t make it bad.
The second time it tried generating a re-written version of “Hey Jude ,” it added the name “Lucy” in the place of “Jude” and then kept the lyrics exactly the same. Hey, if it ain’t broke…
The third time was the charm, it seems, and the technology was able to come up with something original.

Offline What AI is capable of with original material – a huge upscale in both picture and sound quality for Some Other Guy. Yes, the separation here appears a little clunky, but an attempt at creating a soundscape has been made – I’m sure Peter Jackson could better. Be nice to hear this as a bonus track on the upcoming single…
