In the last 9 seconds of Cry Baby Cry , after Paul's singing, you hear George Martin and possibly Geoff Emerick quietly talking. There's also paper rustling and glasses clinking.

Can you guys hear it too, or am I just crazy?

(Also, please post if you've heard other little parts in different songs. Thanks!)

“Mmm…cheeky bitch”
Check out Joe’s article where he has a full transcript because it’s hard to tell what they say before that.

There's a little noise at the end of “Act Naturally ” from muting the guitar strings.

If I seem to act unkind, it's only me, it's not my mind that is confusing things.

Ok, I guess this is a thread for weird things you hear and I have one. After a while of listening to Rubber Soul , I noticed a little noise (could be microphone feedback) at around the 1:17 mark in I’m Looking Through You , right after the lyrics “You were above me”. Is anyone else hearing this?

Just heard it. Probably a mic thing.

There's a little noise in Girl at about :58 and a little later, it goes like be do boo really quick. I think the funniest is on Sgt. Pepper reprise when Paul is going one two three and you can hear John go “bye” which is something I hadn't really noticed until I saw it on a site. If anyone is interested in checking out all the weird little noises in almost every Beatle track, check out this site called Steve's Beatles page. It has a bunch on Revolution 9 and makes the song much, much more interesting to listen to because you're actually listening for things which is fun.

Before I check this guy’s page to find out for sure, do you know if that part of Rev. 9 when the voice goes “Ri-i-i-i-ight!” over and over? Is that John’s voice from the original “Revolution ” track? Maybe Joe knows. Or maybe I should just go read the history … Anyway, that’s what I suspect.

Just listened to the little “Bye” thing in the Reprise, let me just say, LOL! I never noticed that before.

Just listened to end of CBC and beginning of Rev. 9. At CBC, it's the voices, clinking, etc; then silence, then at Rev. 9 it's the piano playing.

I read Joe’s Rev 9 article yesterday or whenever this thread started to see the transcript of what is said at the beginning and it was pretty well explained. Revolution 1 was quite a long song and there’s a take that came out not too long ago (take 20?) which is sort of the bridge between 1 and 9. So if I remember the article correctly, John kept the backing track on 9 and just added to it and the “alriiiiights” are just bits of the original backing track of take 20 that were faded in and out. I think that’s right, but Joe’s article is absolutely fantastic on Rev 9 so check that out because it’s pretty interesting how John made that track.

Blue Nicey, are you talking about the version with the false start and the mxing sounds? That's what I have on my iPod, and it has the cough.(There's also the version you here/play on Beatles Rock Band, to clarify about the version thing)

I think it was mentioned before in the forum, but in Hey Jude you can hear John saying f***ing hell when Paul starts the chorus. It's around 2.55 mins… you can listen to a “Oh” and then John says that.

You can read it here. Have you seen that website? a-hard-days-night-john-3

I dunno, whatever version came on my Revolver CD. It also has George counting in with the “One, two, thray, fauh, one, two, three … ”

That one was actually part of a “Beatley Moment” I posted in that thread. On New Year's Eve I had decided the last song(s) of the year I would listen to would be SPLHCB (R)/ADITL. That decision was based on 2010 having been a year during which we mourned John on the 30th anniversary of his death and I wanted to close out the year with what I feel is John's penultimate Beatles song – sort of a bittersweet farewell. When I heard John say “bye” 3 seconds in, my spine tingled – even though I had heard this so many times in the past.

It was creepy/cool. a-hard-days-night-john-5

Nice, I think it's funny how you can listen to a song hundreds of times, with good headphones btw, and not hear something but then you hear it once and now you can never NOT hear it.

There's something else that happens in that song, Paul yells “we're the greatest band in the world” or something like that. I think it's buried in stereo but pretty clear in mono. One more, I like in What Goes On after Ringo says “tell me why” for the second time, I think, you can hear John go “we already told you why.” That always makes me laugh.

Perhaps this deserves it's own thread, but does anyone have any thoughts on what song sounds best in a pair of headphones? I'd say You Never Give Me Your Money , that middle instrumental bit with the “aaaaahhs” over the top sounds so beautiful it makes me want to cry. Or Rain …LOUD!
